“I'm so glad y'all let me watch the CPR video with y'all, because, see, I got this and even though I'm small, remember, I have a real tall soul, Papa and George, and so if you have heart attack one at a time or at the same time, I got this, because, see, it's just a small gap between what they do in the video and what I can do, because, see … '”

“I'm guessing,” Mrs. Maggie Lee said to Mrs. Thalia Ludlow about five-year-old Lil' Robert Ludlow gushing to his grandfather and elder brother, “that nobody in this house is about to have trouble eating right or exercising in five, four, three, two … .”

Every month, since they shared a stress-related heart condition, 58-year-old Capt. R.E. Ludlow and nine-year-old grandson George watched a specialized CPR video together so they knew how to help each other out. However, once Lil' Robert joined the party, it went to a whole new level …

“... Because, see, I have little hands but big feet, so, if I need to keep your heart moving, I'll just jump up and down on your chest, and if both of you have a heart attack at the same time, I'll just jump back and forth until the ambulance comes, because, see, y'all know I can jump rope like 100 times every day, but I'll try even harder for y'all, so, y'all can relax because, see, I got this!”

“You know,” George said, “that's actually a great idea!”

“It is!” Lil' Robert said, “and see, if Papa has the heart attack, we can take turns jumping on his chest!”

Mrs. Maggie Lee fell out laughing, and Mrs. Ludlow put her head in her hands until she heard her husband say, “Thalia, I need you to double my salad portion this evening,” and then she went and sat down by Mrs. Lee and they laughed until they cried!
