1 March 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3029: eliminate

“Well, I guess we know where Lil' Robert is.”

Mrs. Thalia Ludlow, grandmother to five-year-old Lil' Robert Ludlow, knew he was at his Lee cousins' home while Col. H.F. Lee was putting a military legal eagle eye on some documents regarding the sale of the Ludlow Bubbly with Capt. R.E. Ludlow. Mrs. Maggie Lee had just volunteered to get the three littlest Ludlows occupied at the Lee home so their grandfather could concentrate for most of the time needed – not that grandchildren and their friends were not still running in, but not as often they would have been.

Six-year-old Grayson and seven-year-old Amanda were quietly and happily working on the 100,000 piece jigsaw puzzle the Lees had dedicated a whole room floor to. That left Lil' Robert … and Mrs. Lee absolutely cracking up!

“And this boy decided to eliminate the need to count again!” Mrs. Lee said later on, “and even pulled out a song for it – y'all grandparents have got to stop letting Rob listen to y'all's music because he did a Frank Sinatra cover on the spot – I recorded it!"

Every adult over 25 in the Ludlow, Lee, Trent, Jubilee, and Stepforth circle would have their moment to break out laughing as Lil' Robert applied Frank Sinatra's most famous song...

… to why he had no need to count past 100 and was not going to do it!

“I count to two, And skip a few And do it MY WAY!”

“I thought all three of our living grandparents were going to die at the same time at laughing!” days-from-18-year-old Vanna Trent said to her big brother, 21-year-old Melvin.

“Lil' Robert Ludlow is completely outta control!” Melvin said. “When the cuteness overload, the genius ear for music, and the stubbornness meet – he needs to just go on and be fifty-five years old already and leave us alone!”

“Next week, though!” Vanna said in a pitch-perfect imitation of Lil' Robert, and she and Melvin went on and joined the laughter.
