Hive | More Than Just a Decentralized Social Media

I have been using Facebook for long time ago and would spend a significant amount of time over there. But frankly, Facebook didn't pay me a single penny for whatever I was doing on the platform.
And it's not only about Facebook but there are other web2 platforms as well like Twitter, Instagram where people spend a lot of time just for fun. I don't see anything wrong in fun but for how long? Realizing the power of social media, people and businesses started cashing it out lately.

But on the other hand looking at Hive which is a web3 decentralized social media platform has sort of a different concept. It has sort of empowered its users to earn rewards for the content they create and engage throughout the platform.
The thoughts, suggestions, feelings or hobbies etc people would share on platforms like Facebook etc when shared on Hive may get rewarded while being curated by users on the platform.
And this doesn't just stop here. There are multiple ways of earnings on Hive ecosystem like:

- Make a frontend and earn revenue through ads
- Make your own dapps integrated into the platform

The point is, Hive is not only a social media platform but it can also be taken as a side hustle. Thanks to Hive for providing me an extra source of income. Frankly, I don't make much but I guess it helps collecting those small amounts.
Making around a $100 a month from Hive is something that would be of some good help while working from the comfort of my home, office or any other place.
Hive is a place bringing people from all over the world. Users are paid in Hive and HBD for the content they share and Hive as digital currency is not something that is for a certain locality or people. Anyone in the world can earn Hive.
This combination of decentralized social media and earnings rewards on the content produced is something that could prove very useful but I guess people are not aware of it on a mass level.
