Building Real Love In The Virtual World

Lately, my relationship over the digital world has been very interesting because honestly my past relationship partners wasn’t really into the social media life, and by this I didn’t mean for them to put our lives on social media spaces or I didn’t mean that they should always post me on their status or use my photo as a display picture, just that our chats were really boring and dry and it got tiring, on some days that I would really want to chat or talk over phone they weren’t available.

My present relationship now should be called “Love in the times of digital world”, although we see like once in every week, but I don’t get to feel his absence because he makes the digital life so fun and interesting, we both were both not video calls kind of people but we do it randomly now and we definitely enjoy it, the last time he travelled to a faraway state for an international exam but the exam was postponed and he was a bit vexed and sad, I called him on Snapchat video call, and believe me guys we didn’t even know when we talked for straight 3hours, it was when my battery was down I realized that we have been talking for a long time.

Most times we talk on phone, gisting about random things, talk about about how we want the future to be, also sometimes we argue a bit, he educates me on some science stuffs over the phone, we talk from night to the early hours of the morning without keeping track record of time, and early in the morning he is definitely the first person to wake me up from sleep with a call by 6:00 am, followed by a text message telling me how much he loves and adores me.

Over the phone we just dont have virtual communication but we have consistent and honest communication, calls, messages, video calls. We share thoughts, dreams and vulnerabilities, I learnt how to be open through the phone, most times when I want to say something and I’m unable to say it he immediately figures that there’s something I want to say and then he tells me how important the information I’m holding back might be to him.

Its not just about how we communicate though, we also make memories by sharing photos, I love this part so much because, my partner randomly changes our chat wallpaper on snapchat which is so sweet, and right now my baby picture is our wallpaper on snapchat, Lol.
We share memes and screenshots on tiktok and WhatsApp and laugh about them, we also share some naughty contents and talk bout them, my relationship in the digital world is something I have always wished for, and I wish for others to emulate it too, it really builds the relationship and makes it less too serious, fun, sweet and interesting.
