The Ugly Truck That Stole My Heart
Imagine you looking at truck whose body is rusted and you see a dented bumper just sitting in your old uncle's house.
That moment you just make a wince then you know the truck has been through a lot of potholes and hard moments towards its functioning time. As you can see the paint of the truck peeling, the tire looking very weak and tired and the engine coughing out bad smokes.
But one special thing about this ugly truck is it got a lot of story to tell, and this truck is always teaching me about life. Every weekend when I come outside and I see my uncle firing up this this truck known as the beast to haul yams from his farm I see kids in the neighborhood trying to laugh and calling it a scrap but you know what that truck keeps functioning and never it never quits, it does its job, it carries the harvest through muddy roads, it had to survived breakdowns and even have to overhaul some wedding chairs last year.
Come to think of this, doesn't check this truck remind you of a friend who is always there for you no matter what. This is an example of what this truck is doing.
Before I used to think that beauty was everything. Like someone wearing shiny clothes, someone driving a shiny car, someone using an expensive phone. But this truck has shown me the other part of life. It has shown me what strength really looks like. And strength is not just about the strength. It is about the strength of the people.
Strength is not only about looks. Strength is about showing up, doing the work, carrying the burden and the load. Even when the world never see the value in you. In my neighborhood where we are known to also have, this is a lesson that I have taken to heart.
I will be starting a small business and someday I will feel like that truck. So many rough edges and have been darted by others. But at that truck, I will also keep rolling no matter what. Maybe I can see this is the magic of an ugly thing. They just surprise you. They just come to remind you that there is value in everything you do. It's not about what shines, but it's what about how work it does. And the true value in it.
So here is the ugly truck in our lives. This is the kind of truck that teaches us to keep going no matter what happens. No matter the shades that have been thrown at us.
