Three Tune Tuesday - Let's Swing
Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

As always, thanks to @ablaze for making this series. Lots of people participate in it! Follow the tags to find a ton of good music recommendation.
Today: let's swing!
Swing Jazz was a style that developed in the 1920s. It was the dominant style of jazz until bebop started to gain more popularity after the second world war and especially into the 60s. When you think of big band music, it's probably swing you are thinking of. People like Count Basie, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington all played swing jazz. Later when pop vocalists like Sinatra and Nat King Cole stepped into the limelight, it was swing backing them.
The sound had mostly faded for a long time. Jazz moved onto other styles and singers moved to rock. But surprisingly it has had a little bit of a resurgence lately among indie bands. Now I've already shared some of my favorite modern swing songs in past three tune tuesday posts, but there are many more to feature. Let's look at some!

Hot House West Swing Orchestra - Bei Mir Bist Du Schön
This is not entirely swing, but it's pretty close, and it's a great fun little song. Despite the title, it is in English, so don't worry.
These guys have a lot of great stuff on their channel, so go explore!
The Speakeasies - Bright Lights Late Nights
I love everything about this Greek band and this song. It's a ton of fun!
I have all their albums and can confidently say all their music is great. Type their name into YouTube and enjoy what comes up.
The Swing Ninjas - My Belle
Another great modern swing song here. It's a little shorter than I'd like, but it's a catchy tune.
Bonus: Flash Mob Jazz - Sing Sing Sing
A nice version of the 1936 classic by Louis Prima. As he says at the start of the video, this may be one of the most recorded swing songs in history, sung by one of my favorite indie bands. You guys all know this song, so I keep it as my bonus pick. Enjoy
Bonus: The Speakeasy Three ft. The Swing Ninjas - When I Get Low, I Get High
Another old song, originally recorded by Ella Fitzgerald in the 1930s. I put it in the bonus area because I'm not in love with their version. The tempo is a bit slower than the original and, well, it's just tough to beat Ella Fitzgerald. Still, it's interesting, so you might enjoy it. They really play up the stereotypical view of the swing jazz era in the video.

So what's your favorite?

I love that first song I have an old big band CD that has one of the classic versions on it. Speaking of classics... Sing sing sing is like the epitome of big band and swing. It's probably the one song everyone doesn't know they know! This is the kind of music that got me into jazz. Thanks to my high school band director.
I know we also played it in band, but it wasn't in jazz band, it was actually for pep band at the basketball games. Thinking back I'm not entirely sure why our band director thought that was a good basketball song... maybe he hoped to give the crowd energy.
We played it in the stands at football games! Wait no, we played Land of 1000 dances at the football games. I wrote this on the wrong post!
Listening to songs makes us forget our life's troubles and these songs you have suggested are very good I will definitely listen to them again.
Genial!!!
Digging the swinging old school vibes!
