Silly Little Christmas Songs

Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

As always, thanks to @ablaze for making this series. Lots of people participate in it! Follow the tags to find a ton of good music recommendation.

As the last Tuesday before Christmas, I feel we almost have to cover some Xmas music. But... let's not do the same old 1920s song list that the Baby Boomers have been overwhelming us with every single Christmas for the past 70 years. Let's instead do some more unusual picks. Starting with...

Frankie & the Overdrafts - Can't Afford No Damn Presents

Here's a less well-known Xmas song out of Motown in 1668 that may fit even better today than it did when it was released!

Samuel Kim - Imperial March x Carol of The Bells

Was that just a little too real? How about we just into more fantasy then. This is a killer mash-up of two songs you'd never expect to be mashed together. Boy... it almost makes Xmas seem sinister...

Weird Al - Christmas at Ground Zero

Let's end with this gem. We've done sinister and we've done a little too real, how about completely crazy with a black humor twist? This one actually could be closer to real that we all might like to think about; as Weird Al has said, "This is a song I wrote 35 years ago, but lucky me, it's more relevant today than ever before." The real funny thing about this song is that Al's label made him record a Christmas song. This was back before he was one of the most famous artists around. He said ok, and wrote this.

(I found that one on Odysee. Works great in Firefox or Safari, but unfortunately for some reason the Odysee embed links seem to freeze up Brave at worst or just not work at best. If that happens to you, here is the direct link)

Bonus: Ode to Joy with Beaker

Was that last too dark to end a Christmas songs post on? I think despite the black humor, Al gave a lot of silliness. But ok, maybe this will be a more fitting send-off.

So what's your favorite?

My favorite silly Christmas song is still Snoopy and the Red Baron. It's a great jam!

I haven't heard that one! I'll have to look it up here in a bit before I leave for work.
