I've seen that claim, but some have dived into the numbers more and claim that the only way it could be losing money is if CBS is lying about the money it makes, or if each of Colbert's staff is making about 500k each, which seems a bit unlikely. But who knows. Taking any side in this argument depends on trusting the info from one of the sides, and that's probably a losing bet no matter which side you pick.

Regardless, you are probably right that late night shows all over are dying. It's hard for them to compete with YouTube and TikTok.
