Hello all! Another week and it’s time again to do another #myhivegoals post, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.

Let’s start with my Hive goals.

My current goal is 60k Hive.

Last week I made 220.97 and then I powered up 500 of my own, bringing me to 46550.3 total Hive Power. That’s 77.6% of my goal!

Math time. 60k - 46550.3 gives us 13449.7. Divided out by the days till the first of next year, we get 47.5 Hive needed per day to reach 60k by that point. A tiny bit better. It was 48.8 last week. I guess that 500 from my wallet helped out. Unfortunately 47.5 is still a bit more than I make from posts so that will start to increase again next week. But maybe I’ll be lucky and start getting that appreciator vote! We can always hope, eh?

I still am not too interested in other tokens out there. I did pick up about $10 in VOTE tokens over the past week. I have started to earn curation so I’ll do some math later to see what the annualized APR would be on that, but that’s not really my goal in buying the token: as mentioned last week, I want to try to encourage better political posts, posts that actually make a rational argument instead of just echoing mindless conspiracy claims for which there is no evidence except for what some “news” network claims. A level headed writing voice without the constant attacks on the political group the author doesn’t like also goes a long way. Anyway, I’m going to keep buying VOTE in the hopes that my curation vote becomes large enough that I might be able to do what I want to do.
