My Hive Goals for 22 Jan 2024
Hello all! Another week and it’s time again to do another #myhivegoals post, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.
Let’s start with my Hive goals.
~ Hive & HBD ~
My current goal is 35k Hive.
Last week I made 175.7, bringing me to 22674.66 total Hive Power. That’s 64.8% of my goal!
Math time. 35k - 22674.66 gives us 12325.34. Divided out by the days till the first of next year, we get 35.7 Hive needed per day to reach 35k by that point.
Unfortunately my earnings were down last week from the 200+ I had the previous one. It comes out to about 25.1 last week, nearly 10 shy of where I need to be. Roughly 10 shy every day would be 300 shy per month. I wonder if I can figure out how to power-up 300 every month for HPUD.
On to the second layer…
~ BRO & PIMP ~
My overall goal here is 1000 BRO and 100k PIMP.
Last week I didn’t buy any BRO, but I earned 0.174 from my delegation, which puts me at 526.01 total or 52.6% of my goal. Slowly but surely.
I didn’t buy any PIMP either. The price did drop last week so I put in a few bids, but the bidding bots immediately swooped in above me. It’s hard to beat those things. Oh well. But I made 467.5 PIMP last week, putting me at 64586.7 — 64.6% of my goal.
~ Silver ~
No new silver this past week.
The silver market wasn’t too good. Look at this.
After hitting a low on Thursday, we seemed to start to recover a bit, but then right before the market closed on Friday it went down again. It seems like a lot of the bigger silver channels on YouTube think we are headed to sub-$20. I don’t know. What do you think?
The new Silver Maple Leaves with King Chuck seem to now be available.
Is that a good likeness of him? I don’t know. I mean I know the guy has a big nose, but this coin makes him his nose look more like Jimmy Durante level.
But anyway, I’ll be looking to get at least one.

Every time I try to bid on Tribaldex I get outbid. So I hear you on that. Don’t believe the YouTube bullshit it’s all horse shit. It’s either the doom a gloom guys or the pumpers that thinks it going to moon. The only channel to watch well technically listen to because they only have the same screen most of the time is Illuminati Silver. I’ve been following them for nearly a decade. They are pretty honest and have a good finger on the market.
I can’t stand King Charles, so I try not to buy anything with him on it if I can help it.

I'm not a fan of the monarchy in general, so I feel the same about Chuck as I felt about Liz. I'd prefer none of the commonwealth used their images on the coins.

I saw that the price of silver was down quite a bit. Those maple leaf rounds are really cool looking. I wanted to buy one the other day, but I held off. I've got some big bills coming up and I don't need to be spending money on stuff like this.

Good work on your weekly savings goals @dbooster. I have particularly found BRO to be an excellent token to HODL over time.

In the spirit of helping you save money, I want to first say I truly appreciate your upvote on my comment. I think that is an underrated aspect of our engaging here on our Hive blockchain.
While I do not claim to be the SME on the subject, though, it is my understanding that it is wasted, if not a minimum of $0.02 at payout. Here is a post I bookmarked in PeakD on the subject ...
P.S. Taking pains to not be misunderstood, no I am not asking you to increase the size of your upvote. Yes, I am saying it might be in your best interest, however, to remove it ... 👍
Hmm.. I was under the same impression of several of the commenters on that post, that the recent hard fork eliminated that issue. I'll have to look into that or just ask Marky on Discord.
At any rate, I also use comment upvotes as just a "seen" indicator, so the commenter knows I didn't miss it. Kind of the same way many of us do with likes and hearts on Facebook/twitter. If that 1 cent goes to dust and back to the reward pool, well that's unfortunate, but it does still function as the purpose of letting the commenter know I saw what they wrote. (I guess when I reply that kind of defeats the purpose of the "seen" upvote, but it's habit).
