Covers, Remixes, and Parodies ~ Three Tune Tuesday

Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let’s go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

As always, thanks to @ablaze for making this series. Lots of people participate in it! Follow the tags to find a ton of good music recommendations.

Today I have another mix of different genres. Trying to keep switching things up to stay interesting.

Beatrice Florea - Stayin’ Alive

Barry Gibb’s falsetto in this song is so iconic that any cover feels risky, but Beatrice Florea pulls it off with her own spin. On one hand, it’s missing that soaring falsetto, but on the other, she leans into a more grounded vocal style that gives the song a fresh texture. It’s fun to hear a disco anthem reframed in a modern way.

Billie Jean (Blues-Soul Remix)

Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” is one of those songs that seems untouchable, so a blues-soul remix is an ambitious gamble. I think it’s a little too uptempo for a true blues remix, but oh well.

I can’t find an artice and plenty of YouTube comments claim the voices are AI-generated. Does AI have the ability to mimic voice this well?. Either way, it’s an intriguing reimagining of a classic.

Weird Al - The Hamilton Polka

Only Weird Al could pull this off: distilling an entire Broadway phenomenon into one rapid-fire polka medley. “The Hamilton Polka” is hilarious, catchy, and surprisingly faithful to the source material. This is a great reminder that Weird Al isn’t just a parodist±he’s a skilled musician who can twist genres at will. That and he does great polka songs. The sheer breath control alone is impressive. Even if you’re not a Hamilton fan, this one’s worth it for the energy.

So what’s your favorite?
