Cloud Flower Mario Bros \\ Decorative Pendant Quilling Technique [Eng-Esp]

Hello to all my Hive friends... 🐱

I mentioned earlier that the Super Mario Bros. game brings back many memories of my childhood. Last week, I made a fire flower pendant. Since there are many flowers in different versions of the game, I did some research and was very taken with a very pretty one called The Cloud Flower, which is found in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Hola a toda mi gente de Hive... 🐱

Le he mencionado con anterioridad que me trae muchos recuerdos de mi infancia el juego de Super Mario Bros, la semana pasada realicé un colgante de la flor de fuego, cómo hay muchísimas flores pero de diversas versiones del juego me puse a investigar y me llamó mucho la atención una muy linda llamada La Flor Nube, que se encuentra en Super Mario galaxy 2.

• Cintas para quilling.
• Aguja para quilling.
• Cartulina.
• Hoja blanca.
• Lápiz.
• Pintura color perlada.
• Pintura color blanca.
• Plastilina de color negro.
• Argolla de bisutería.
• Cristales de bisutería.
• Guillotina de cortar papel.
• Plantilla para moldear círculos.
• Pega blanca extra fuerte (de carpintería).
• Pincel.
• Tijera.
• Hilo piel de serpiente fino color negro.
• Tapanudos.
• Trancadero pico de loro.

• Quilling strips.
• Quilling needle.
• Cardboard.
• White sheet of paper.
• Pencil.
• Pearl-colored paint.
• White paint.
• Black modeling clay.
• Jewelry ring.
• Jewelry crystals.
• Paper cutter.
• Circle template.
• Extra-strong white glue (carpentry glue).
• Paintbrush.
• Scissors.
• Thin black snakeskin thread.
• Thumbtacks.
• Parrot beak clasp.

• I started by sketching on a white sheet of paper with a pencil, then I took a piece of white cardstock and cut out the same shape.

• From the white cardstock, I cut strips 3 mm wide. I took one strip, rolled it up with the needle until I reached the end, sealed it with extra-strong white glue, removed it from the needle to obtain a closed circle, shaped it into a slightly oval shape, and glued it to the sketch I had made earlier.

• Using white tape, also 3 mm wide, I made two slightly smaller semi-tight circles than the previous one. I also shaped these as you can see in the image.

• Comencé realizando un boceto en una hoja blanca con un lápiz, luego tomé un trozo de cartulina blanca y recorte el mismo.

• De una cartulina blanca procedí a cortar tiras de 3 mm de ancho, tomé una tira, con la aguja enrollé hasta llegar al final de la misma, selle con pega blanca extra fuerte, saqué de la aguja para obtener un círculo cerrado, este lo moldee de una manera un poco ovalada y lo pegué del boceto que había realizado con anterioridad.

• Con cinta de color blanca también de 3 mm de ancho, procedí a realizar dos círculos semi apretados un poco más pequeños que el anterior, estos también procedí a moldearlos tal y como pueden ver en la imagen.

• Once the two remaining circles were ready, I proceeded to glue them onto the template to form a cloud, then I wrapped white ribbon around it to cover any imperfections.

• To make the stem, I took 9 mm wide green tape, glued two pieces vertically, and then rolled them up with a needle. I glued this stem to the bottom of the cloud, in the center piece.

• To make the leaves, I made two open circles with 3 mm wide green tape, shaped them into leaves, and once they were ready, I glued them to the sides of the stem.

• Listos los dos círculos restantes procedí a pegarlos en la plantilla para formar una nube, luego pasé una cinta blanca alrededor del mismo para tapar las imperfecciones.

• Para realizar el tallo tomé cinta de color verde de 9 mm de ancho, pegué dos en vertical luego procedí con una aguja a enrollar, este tallo lo pegué de la parte de abajo de la nube, en la pieza central.

• Para realizar las hojas procedí a hacer dos círculos abiertos con cinta de color verde de 3 mm de ancho, estás las moldee en forma de hojas, una vez listas las pegué a los lados del tallo.

• Using pearl-colored paint, I applied several coats to the cloud to give it a metallic color, and I also added some details to the stem and leaves.

• I made the eyes out of black modeling clay, stuck them in the center of the cloud, and made two small lights with white paint.

• I made a small hole in the top of the cloud and placed a jewelry ring there.

• To protect the pendant, I applied several layers of extra-strong white glue, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next.

• While the piece was still wet, I decorated the sides of the cloud with two jewelry crystals.

• To finish, I made a small pendant with thin black snakeskin thread, to which I attached a knot cover, a ring, and a parrot beak clasp, which I hooked onto the cloud.

This is how I finished this decorative pendant of the cloud flower from the Mario Bros video game, using the quilling technique.

• Con pintura color perlada, procedí a aplicar varias capas en la nube para darle un color metalizado, también apliqué unos detalles en el tallo y en las hojas.

• Con plastilina de color negro realicé los ojos, los pegué en el centro de la nube y realicé dos pequeñas luces con pintura de color blanca.

• Realicé un pequeño agujero en la parte de arriba de la nube, y allí coloqué una argolla de bisutería.

• Para proteger el colgante apliqué varias capas de pega blanca extra fuerte dejando secar entre una capa y otra.

• Estando la pieza húmeda, procedí a decorar con dos cristales de bisutería a los lados de la nube.

• Para finalizar procedí a realizar un pequeño colgante con hilo piel de serpiente fino de color negro al cual le coloqué un tapa nudos una argolla y un trancadero pico del loro, este lo enganché de la nube.
