‎Hello, friends. The week is almost over and I couldn't help but to share with you this sad work by F. Chopin. Composed between 1838 and 1839, this Prelude is one of the composer's most moving and enigmatic pieces. It is part of his cycle of 24 Preludes, written during his stay in Majorca with George Sand, a period marked by illness and introspection.
‎Unlike his more virtuosic works, this Prelude is austere and somber, with a minimalist texture where a simple melody but charged with a suffocating sadness rises over repetitive, slowly descending chords.

‎ Hola, amigos. Casi se termina la semana y no podía dejar de compartirles esta triste obra de F. Chopin. Compuesto entre 1838 y 1839, este Preludio es una de las piezas más conmovedoras y enigmáticas del compositor. Forma parte de su ciclo de 24 Preludios, escritos durante su estancia en Mallorca con George Sand, un período marcado por la enfermedad y la introspección.
‎ A diferencia de sus obras más virtuosas, este Preludio es austero y sombrío, con una textura minimalista donde una melodía simple pero cargada de una tristeza asfixiante se eleva sobre acordes repetitivos y lentamente descendentes.
