Hello, friends. As promised, today I bring you something else from the master Ernán López-Nussa to close this third round. This piece is entitled "Volver a Cuba" (Back to Cuba) and I think it captures the feeling of longing and reunion.
It is not only music, it is a journey full of images. The first chords draw the sea, then the echo of the streets of Havana, the syncopation flows like the waves on the boardwalk at sunset. The melody sings with nostalgia but without regret, the deep basses are roots and the treble, free birds. The rhythm, between the freedom of jazz and the Cuban base, demands precision and soul.
Cuba sounds in every silence, in every note that is born and fades away. In each vibration Ernán's story becomes mine, ours, in this shared instant.
Personally I have never left my country, but when I do I hope to return one day and find a land alive and free.

Hola, amigos. Lo prometido es deuda, así que hoy les traigo algo más del maestro Ernán López-Nussa para cerrar esta tercera ronda. Esta obra se titula "Volver a Cuba" y creo que plasma acertadamente el sentimiento de añoranza y reencuentro.
No es solo música, es un viaje cargado de imágenes. Los primeros acordes dibujan el mar, luego el eco de las calles habaneras, la síncopa fluye como las olas en el malecón al atardecer. La melodía canta con nostalgia pero sin pesar, los bajos profundos son raíces y los agudos, pájaros libres. El ritmo, entre la libertad del jazz y la base cubana, exige precisión y alma.
Cuba suena en cada silencio, en cada nota que nace y se desvanece. En cada vibración la historia de Ernán se vuelve mía, nuestra, en este instante compartido.
En lo personal nunca he salido de mi país, pero cuando lo haga espero regresar un día y encontrar una tierra viva y libre.
