Weekend-Engagement #284: What do you miss about being a child and why?

I chose this topic because just a few weeks ago I was thinking about this... Sometimes, when there are more difficult or sad moments, I miss the time when I was child, for various reasons:
I miss the whole family... Now, I only have one grandparent left, and I don't even know for how much longer, I also lost an uncle prematurely a long time ago... When I was a child, it was always nice to get together at Christmas, New Year's, or for birthdays, with chatting, games, and laughter, but not only for events, also for everyday life. Having grandparents living on the floor above and my parents working, I would always go to their house to eat or spend the evening... I also miss my dog and the cat I was deeply attached to... It's true that now I have my family, but I still miss those moments and the people (animals) who are no longer here.
Carefreeness... When you were a child, the only concerns you had were going to school and getting good enough grades, the rest you didn't have to worry about, you had all afternoon to play outside with friends, do sports... And in the end, there were no problems, and if there were, you knew that mom and dad would solve everything, and everything would be fine. Now, it's true, as you grow up, you take on responsibilities, but there are moments when you are literally overwhelmed, and you don’t get a break, and it's not guaranteed that everything will be fine. Not by chance, ours is the society of stress...
Naivety... For example, the naivety of believing in Santa Claus, Christmas as a child is something special that you wait for all year. You wake up in the morning and run to the Christmas tree, thinking that someone brought you presents. Now, it's just another red day on the calendar where you don't work, and you exchange a few gifts more out of habit than for anything else... The same goes for Epiphany with the Befana bringing you a stocking with sweets and chocolates... Also the naivety of thinking that everyone in the world is good and kind, when all it takes is reading a local newspaper to see that the world is full of human filth.
Unfortunately, you can't go back in time and relive those moments, so it's pointless to dwell too much and pity yourself, but a thought with a bit of nostalgia will always be there.

That's the price to grow, and there are good things and also sad ones... all are experiences which are part of life. Just be grateful for the opportunity lived and family who was there, and then the memories keep with us.

Such a heartfelt reflection here, @davideownzall. You are goodhearted and kind. We all rush around to get on with life, looking for something we think could make us happy, but the answer is just simplicity. The memory of childhood and family is simple itself, and that’s the one that sticks most in us.
True, time spent with family like playing cards it's simple, yet stay with you forever
Thank you
