Yea I didn’t really change that much when I lost this person. I grew up quite a bit in some capacity, but I’m still me, I’m still here.
I don’t think we should judge people generally. Like really just judging people is a waste of time.
If someone losses someone and becomes abusive I wouldn’t judge it but I will distance myself from that person. People who take out their personal problems on other people have bigger issues than just the loss and I can’t fix peoples problems.
I agree with you that the rally car and watering holes aren’t marketing. That is more like brand building. Oddly enough, Wendy’s sponsors a NASCAR. Little TradFi community overlap there 😆
Wendy’s is not sponsoring a NASCAR to make people hungry for their food, they are doing it to show people they are a big brand.
I think marketing the chain is challenging for a lot of reasons. Not impossible, but challenging.
Like I do not think we should market the whole chain like some giant product. It’s too confusing.
Marketing should be targeted based on the application or use case and the audience that will use that use case.

These are just ideas. Like nothing in particular is an idea I’m married too or something I’m saying we should do. But my point is, if we are going to do marketing, it should be targeted. Like who is the target customer and for what application?
Bit of a ramble response on my end, but my point is, “we need more marketing” is not really actionable. We need to identify the target customer and then identify the most cost effective way to market to them.
Also, I think the users probably need to market the chain better too. Like we as users can come up with marketing campaigns. Not everything the user base does has to go through the DHF or leverage the reward pool.
I also think us getting on CEXs and DEXs are different things and not marketing. Like us trying to get on CEXs and DEXs is more about staying up to speed with the broader crypto market and just making sure people have access to buy HIVE in the first place.
Yeah, if someone gets really abusive or in trouble, it's better to connect him to a professionist... There is nothing wrong in seek help from psychology...
Indeed, targeted marketing is the only manageable way to do it, I can think of 3speak as a concurrent of YouTube where you can't lose monetization, snaps for who's been banned from Twitter... It would be great to have a real fps shooter like CoD, some triple A like games that would bring people...

This worked very well in 2017, before Hive forked, and a great influx of new users joined. They did not stay because the platform did not live up to their needs. It is not marketing we need as long as we have interesting creators, but user retention. Hive has terrible user retention. One problem we have is that a large part of the market for Hive has already come and gone, and spread their disappointment to anyone that would listen. Overcoming that reputation will require some reforms that can address the negative aspects of Hive.
It is probably possible if some focus groups of disaffected former members are queried about what caused them to be disappointed, and to reform those things.
