Seemingly Funny Health Advice

It's funny how people tend to mostly have a say when it comes to giving health advice and recommendations. If that were the measure of true concern for one—guess it may also be—then I think people here are the most concerned about each other. Just needlessly complain about a health issue and see solutions and suggestions fly around you like flies. One would wonder how comes everyone is seemingly a health personnel.

Health advices always fly around. Except you don't need it, but you can't really lack it. Just request it and you see it come around like you never expected. The older ones do always have a say, maybe age and experience plays a part here. This has led me to always wonder how comes many know about health so well, that they seem to always have something to say or share. It looked as if, one only needs the attention of a medical professional's advice when the matter is serious and cogent. Or maybe it seemed to defy the common knowledge and advice of others around.

I've received a lot of health advices, several different ones. Some which came directly while others indirectly. Others as well came from the normal community advisers while some other few from the ones in the professional health field. It's necessary to also mention that some of such advices are helpful, even if they didn't really come from those in the health field, but most especially when it comes from them. Funny they may be, but then, their authenticity can be counted valid.

Amidst some of the health advices I've received, one stands out for me to share here. It came from a fried who was at the time in the educational process of becoming a health professional. During one of the funny chat moments some long time ago, I mentioned how by 10 PM for some reasons I've not yet eaten, but would soon do. It was a busy day, I came back home late and I was hungry and needed to still eat.

Hearing it, she disapproved and encouraged that I avoid eating late at night. I thought it was some kind of joking moments until she mentioned what seemed a funny health advice I can remember. She mentioned it was bad and would cause me to inadvertently develop a pot belly. I couldn't take it seriously at the moment and had to laugh it, at least not to her knowledge, especially recognising that she was serious about it. Upon that, it still seemed funny to me. I don't know if it was the thought of me with a pot belly or the unbelievable way the advice seemed.

Through time, I came to realise the validity of that advice, as many also attested to it. At least, it coming from a health inclined individual makes it more viable. And so, till date when I get caught up with late eating sometimes, that advice comes around. It still amazes me though, but hey the truth can't be taken away from that.

This is my entry for the healthy bees weekly prompt, week 6.
