Power Supply: The Current State In My Area
Power supply has been a major consideration and topic in our world today. I mean, when almost everything we engage with and through require some sort of power to wield and give it life to function. It speaks loudly to how this is a big matter in our modern world. We've all come to depend on some power supply—maybe more than one—to serve our purposes. A world filled with gadgets and devices that all need power supplied to be useful; I guess power will always be a relevant conversation.
Now, this power source could come in different forms. The solar, hydro, wind, all resulting to one form of power that most of our devices, gadgets and tools require—electrical power. And I think the electrical power supply forms the major aspect of my discourse in this post. Why? Because this is certainly the major and most used power; in my part of the world.
It has always been a big cry for help and of displeasure when it comes to the discussion about power supply here. To an extent, people have adapted to darkness than light, as a result of poor power supply. Such that when this power is supplied, people rejoice as if they've won some jackpot. Well, it's less of a thing now as many have found remedy in; getting generators to supply them power, and also using power banks to keep their phones and other necessary gadgets within the power potential alive.
This, is the major case in my part of the world; if one would care to take some statistics. However, it could vary in some places. There are areas that record good power supply that you would wonder if it was the same part of the world we're living in. By and large, your guess would be that it's the places you find the richly endowed individuals dwelling; such places are the ones with such power supply—one you would consider good enough. My area doesn't fit the qualifications of such social status, nevertheless, we enjoy good power supply.
I moved into the area a few months ago. Gathering from sources, I discovered it's much of a developing area, who for some reasons were privileged to enjoy good power supply made available. On a normal day, of no power interference, we enjoy mainly nothing less than 20 hours of power supply, cumulatively. Yes, I should be right with that assessment. So, when it comes to the discourse about power supply; and possibly how awful it is, my area seems to be out of the conversation.
With such a level of power supply—what others would consider magnanimous, I would say we have nothing to complain on how it could be made better—well, maybe the charges. One thing though I'll say is that the current state in many other parts should be improved upon. I've suffered it in my past locations, where you barely get to experience power supply for more than—or rather, up to—8 hours in a day. I consider it can be made better in such areas. Other opinion could be to leverage on other power sources. We're blessed with the sun here, I think it should be made more useful for power than it is.

Imagine an adult celebrating wholeheartedly in this 21st because electricity was restored, Nigeria is a mess.
I remember a lecturer telling me about a conference he was privileged to attend in Europe because of a project. While the conference was in session, a question was asked to all the attendees about some of the obstacles faced during the course of their research. Hr innocently stood up and said electricity much to the shock of the entire room with majority of them laughing because they never thought electricity would ever be a problem in modern day society. This just shows how backward this country truly is.
Please kindly indicate your location because I might be relocating anytime soon🤣🤣
Omoo, that's sad.
Imagine how they'll consider him in the room. And this is really a serious issue. It's really a proof of our backwardness.
Ohh really 😅
