Passion or Fame? Drives of Upcoming Artistes

The music industry seems one of the most adoring and lucrative places to be. With over-mainstream qualities and constant growth/development, it's certainly an attractive one, as well as something or a place to settle, in the minds of many. It's not any news how almost every kid back then-perhaps now too-seemed to be having some interest in the field of music, hoping one day to attain that goal. You could say they were/are passionate or just probably a chase after fame.

The mainstream culture has afforded and presented music with a privilege and spotlight, making it a highly possible means to reach an extended height, compared to some other similar outlets. Hence, with passion and a desire for fame sitting side by side, the music journey of upcoming artistes could said to be defined by one of these, and just maybe a mix of the two altogether.

An ‘artiste’ should communicate some essence, meaning and important ideals through his or her choice form of art; in this case music. Music shouldn't be just about singing, making merry and all, but an effort to communicate an ideal, standing for something, and adding value to society while putting beats and rhythms to all of that. And I tell you, it has one of the biggest potentials of achieving all that and more.

When this isn't fully understood, then the journey into the music can be just a tour. However, to achieve music as a tool not just as a means of reaching somewhere hasn't been the reality of many of what one would find today; in my opinion at least. And that is evident in the videos and lyrics you would find with some of those songs. There could be a passion, and that passion could be the adrenaline that helped to start that journey, but along the line, the hungry desire for fame could take charge.

Having it in mind and using music as a tool towards the possibility of fame alone, has been the case of many upcoming artistes in my own opinion; through observation and an assessment of the driving factors of many upcoming artistes today. As mentioned, it's evident in some of the approaches, the lyrics, the themes, the contents and the message ultimately. What resonates more with the subscribers and the vast majority is what would be explored.

This isn't to say that there aren't upcoming artistes who aren't driven by passion also in the music industry. The other case seems to be predominant today, I consider. Yet, there are upcoming artistes out there, driven by passion, hoping also that it puts them somewhere good in life ultimately, not just doing what they need to because they want to get there, but rather highly influenced by an undying passion.

Having a drive for music due to passion alone could be said to be oblivious. Every manufacturer would want their products to be known, and they also should be known as the manufacturers. The same is the case with music in some sense, nevertheless, the passion could be what is held onto and not the fame. So, even when it doesn't come, they are still happy doing music, hoping someday they get there. I find then that upcoming artistes could be riding on the wings of passion or fame or maybe both.

It is so sad that most people think music industry is a place for soft life. That industry is also a place of fulfilling purpose in life, music is a calling on its own. Whenever I see people running to it just for fame and the goodies in the game, it hurts me a lot.

Honestly bro. It has been abused and perceived wrongly. In my opinion, not all into music are even supposed to be into it. It's always much of a problem when people go into it for fame.

Thanks for your wonderful comments bro.
