Money Can Bring Happiness, It Can't Buy It

The subject of money has been a controversial one for a long time that one can't even remember. Several alluring statements to the viability of some of the facts stated or otherwise. When it's said that, "money can't buy happiness", I find it agreeable to a large extent. This is because I've come to see people who have the money, wealth and resources lacking of this thing called happiness. Especially when the source of the money is questionable. Surely, that sort of money can never think of buying happiness.

Though money can't buy happiness, there's a lot it can do to improve one's life and maybe give that momentary happiness. With that, I could recall when I was small and would desire something as little as sweet to lick. The moment this desire was achieved; the sweet unwrapped and moving from one part of my mouth to another, that moment was one of utmost joy and happiness. You can say the world's greatest problem for me was solved. It's a fact of how much money can go to impress our emotions and set the hormones in action. Nevertheless, I find that this is only momentary, true happiness goes beyond the subject of money.

I'm not one to really say I overspend. I'm nonetheless guilty of it at some point in life. Such points where I had to remove the thinking cap and just set the motion rolling. Some of which I would go on to question later, while others felt well deserved.

One thing I've found myself not to hold back from especially when I'm good on some money is what benefits my stomach; yeah. And then health ultimately. At some points even when on little cash, I could prefer to bless myself with a good meal and something nice I've long desired rather than let it go. They were times I would come back and recount my decisions as improper. It was not a matter of reckless eating and overeating. I could remember this time way back in school when I used the last set of money I think I had; even when I needed it for transportation and other things just so I could get a decent meal after days of taking some "unkind food". Haha.

I think that attitude was greatly influenced by one of my close friends. He always believed we should eat something good even if it was the last money we had on us. So, at times I take this advice seriously. The happiness is the main thing here.

I fancy happiness as something that everyone should share in it. Through such a feeling and thought, I've found myself at some points spending on some things to make one or two persons happy. I could remember this day when a friend prompted me into buying a drink for some of our friends. That money used to buy those drinks was reserved to be used for some important things. Considering it was a time I was limited in funds and was calculating my spendings. But this were some worthy friends. I had no other option then but to purchase it. Surely, it did spoil my plans, but the happiness expressed on their face was worth it. I would say it was more than the gift for them, but the thought of remembering them so much as to get them something.

As stated earlier; money can't buy happiness. How about it being used to make ourselves or someone happy? For a momentary time, nevertheless. Surely, it can be worth it at the end.

Of a truth, having money isn't a guarantee for happiness. You can have all the money in the world, yet happiness will elude you.
We can only use money to get things that make us happy, but it can't buy this emotional feeling called happiness.

That's very true. It can't buy this emotion called happiness; I can't agree less.

Since my mother informed me that money spent on oneself is the only benefit we part with when our time comes, I do well to enjoy whatever I earn to the fullest. Like you, I'm also focused on stomach infrastructure and other wise 😃

Your mom is wise. That's one of the best things I think we can do for ourselves. Oh wow, you're in same focus with me. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone 😁
