Let Them Have These Traits

If only we had the power to make some possibilities, I guess the concerns of any and many parents with regards their children will be no problem at all. I've heard parents scream at their children and call them stubborn, undisciplined, disrespectful and the likes. If only there was a wand to wave and make all of that solved. But no, I look and realise children can be portraits of their parents and their generic traits, to an extent.

To a limit though, for some attitudes, character, could be strongly considered as learned rather than a total genetic traits effect. In all, parents wished sometimes their children were like this, like that or not this or that.

This prompt brought me to the realisation of how much parents would have seemingly opted into this if it were a possibility. To be able to address their offsprings' behavioural character as well as the physical features and genetics. I guess many would pick the best of qualities and most profound of their genetic traits to pass them on to their offsprings, withholding the ones seen and perceived as not so good or not good at all. What would I do if I could choose the behavioural characters and genetic traits of my offsprings?

I've had behaviours and attitudes I considered bad and unacceptable. Through time, experiences and a desire to depart from them, I made some necessary changes. There were deliberate efforts to rise above them and I certainly wouldn't want my offsprings to have such attitudes. Like any true good parent, I'll love them to have the character and behaviour that are positive to them and the society.

Talk about things like kindness, empathy, obedience, tolerance, respectful, generosity, honesty, integrity. Having in them these behaviours and the characters of also reaching out, being goal oriented, focused, hardworking and a smart approach to life will be a big win. This can't be infused in them before even being born, but there's an alternative in the way of training them rightly in these ways, which is what I hope to do.

They shouldn't be like me, they should be themselves and a better version of me. Such is the joy and fulfilment of any true leader and parent. They should be able to grow into the version of themselves they were created to be while upholding all positive values and characters. They should learn through lessons and weaknesses to become great and purposeful.

Of course, I will love them to have nice and beautiful physical features. Not necessarily an exact standard or pattern per say, but something in the right manner and proportion to be able to make someone's son or daughter admire them, haha. Could be dark or light skinned, rounded face or not. Okay, I said no exact standard per say, but having an average height, an average weight, and an average body physique or stature will be nice, yeah. Chuckles.

Anything beyond this I think goes beyond what I can say or wish they will have. They are left to the good course of their creator to make them in His perfect way. Well, I guess all are.
