Home or Abroad?

When you ask someone in my country today the question, if they would take the opportunity to travel or go abroad, the certain answer from almost all, say ninety percent would be yes, of course! That's if they don't add drama to it by asking if you really meant that question, or if you must even be joking to be asking such a question. I guess it defines the desires of many to fly out into that foreign land.

Talking of taking the opportunity to travel out, it's actually in the context of going to a better, developed country than ours. And for what? It's all in a bid for a better and perhaps a good life. So, it's common today that almost everyone envies and yearns for the privilege to get this opportunity. It could be read in the desires of many.

Adding some drama to it; as the prompt spelt out, if given a huge sum of money, what would one's option be; to relocate to another country or remain in their country? I consider that many would perhaps still hold on to that desire to just travel out, hoping and believing it will certainly be better there. True or not isn't my discussion here; but what if I got this privilege, this opportunity of a huge sum of money, will relocating out of the country be the option, or staying back in my fatherland?

Based on consideration and some understanding, the desires of many to travel out or did so, were all in a quest for a better life, a better system, a better place where things are working well. If such huge money were given to me with these two options lying side by side, I'd take the one of staying back in my country. For some reason, this will be my decision.

Okay, say I wish to relocate, it would take much to settle down. Talk about where to stay, household items to buy, getting new stuff, building a life there, all of that and then the deal of adjusting and acclimatising. Well, all that might not be some issues, especially concerning the expenses part, since I would be given some huge money, huh? Maybe acclamatising too wouldn't be a big deal. However, it would be more profitable to stay back and establish myself with the money, which would be huge, right?

As I consider this, I'm drawn to consider what such money could do to my dreams, aspirations and purpose. The questions I tend to consider are, why am I relocating, what would I be doing there, and what would it cost me to relocate? And a whole lot of related questions. In the midst of it, I find that the decision to stay back would be much of a positive step to take.

I've had an entrepreneurial spirit. With the money, it would mean an opportunity to establish and invest in those ideas. If I can get a good life here with such money, why try to find it outside, risking all the memories, the people; family and friends, the beautiful culture, the weather and all, to search for something outside?

As mentioned earlier, the basic reason many tend to travel out or relocate is for a better life. If many can get it here, they wouldn't be searching for it outside, I guess. Not to forget that relocating to perhaps, a better country doesn't cancel out its perks. Such a country could have its challenges it's going through, and one could probably face the personal challenge of being an immigrant. Considering all that, I think I'll stay put and build myself an empire in my country, and build the country with my resources.

I dey always pledge to my country, to be faithful, loyal and stay back every morning 😅😅.

It's actually tempting, and I will fall for it at the right time. Well, it's not about not travelling to another country oo, would be lying honestly. But relocating just like that... Let the money mistakenly come sha, then we'll know.

As you have pointed out in this write-up that alot of people will choose to relocate due to the situation of the country and hoping to gain greener pasture outside the country, I still believe and agree with you that staying back in the country and finding the possible way out of your situation is the best.

As for me if am being sincere, am staying back because I believe that I can turn my story around with time. Thank you for sharing this @daverick

That's just it. It's about building something great and creating a better life. It will also mean contributing to the economy of your country.
Thank you @samarijr0.
