Friend Indeed

Friends form one of the bedrocks of memories when it comes to school days. You can't fail to hear about the stories of one friend or another when it comes to testimonies about one's days in school. For some, one of the major reasons they scaled through in their academics is because of some friends or a wonderful friend they made.

How instrumental a friend can be in such a setting can't be overemphasised. Right from the very first day in school, it has been about the help of friends for many people. Up until the last days. When we look honestly, our school stories could revolve around how valuable and instrumental friends have been.

This friendship has gone on to affect some people for life lifetime. After school, such persons kept in touch and through one means or another, they became the reason why they got that job or started that brand. How far a friendship that started in school awkwardly, randomly, calmly, collectively or decisively can't be and should not be underestimated.

Of course, I knew the value of friends so I didn't shy away from having some. Besides, it would be weird and perhaps unreal to say I didn't have friends. We all have friends; it is a necessary thing. I happen to have had a number of them with whom I still keep in touch with some. What began with a simple gesture has turned into a lifelong friendship.

I value every important friendship and this one I wish to share is nothing short of a wonderful and valuable friendship. I can't say how exactly the conversation started but I remember well that what led to the friendship was because he needed help with learning one of our design software. I had a level of knowledge on it that he didn't have, so I obliged to help.

We entered school and used the nighttime to take him through the basics till he got it. After some time, he was doing well. Today, I still use it against him, telling him how I was a master to him and his journey to being able to use design softwares began with me. It is a narrative he can't take away, not now or anytime in life. Haha.

The profound thing is how the friendship grew from just a tutorial session to a lifelong, tangible, substantial and reliable friendship. We have done well to help and support each other. I can't forget how we pulled through together through presentations and assignments, through hunger and want. We also tend to encourage each other in our skills.

We still keep in touch to date. It is not even about keeping in touch, but how much we keep in touch. For one reason or the other, we are discussing or addressing something. Like I said, we try to encourage and advise each other, as well as discuss some important life issues. We make fun of each other which makes it more fruitful for me. Through him, I got to know other people who have been instrumental to me, and vice versa. It is an impactful one for me.
