AI and the Digital Space: Exploring the Impacts

Well, the conversation about AI (Artificial Intelligence) has been a long one, since its inception in this era of digitalisation. The idea has been a mind-boggling one, unbelievable, one could have said, but today, it's nothing less than reality, a reality that keeps getting more and more real with the passage of time and growth of the digital age.

The inception of AI into the digital space was a big game-changer. Yes, there have been several digital advancements, but this came with its perks, bringing about a change that has obsessed the digital world. AI today has infiltrated almost everything in the digital space. It's there in our social media spaces, educational space, entertainment space and industry, in various facets of our digital life in this present age, leaving every actively engaged user poised and involved.

The introduction of AI into the digital space came with good ideas, considerably. Not to vouch completely for the creators, for many in this line could be found to be a step ahead, harbouring something fishy in the background when they bring up such things.

What could I be talking about? There have been, there are still currently I guess concerns from people about AI collecting their data in some way. It's been a concern for many, leaving the whole idea in a deep conversation. Nevertheless, looking at it objectively, the introduction of AI could be seen as a good idea, coming in to ease things and answer some questions-to just do some intelligent stuff.

The goodness of AI from its introduction into the digital space has been numerous, and undeniably, it has been handy. Talk of its help in seeking information, this has become very easy today. If you think the Internet age brought ease in this respect, AI has brought more than ease, to some extent, facts and certainty even. Talk of its work in the research and educational space, AI has fed humanity well and brought all these a step closer to us which we can't fail to agree.

However, I find that there's been a wrong approach to it and its use. Maybe it's about a wrong orientation, perspective, or maybe just about laziness and unwillingness to use our brains again. It's found these days that many don't put their brains to work again, the only brains they seem to have are the artificial one that exists in their phones, and go by the various names of ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Perplexity AI...

Am I against it? No. What I consider a demerit about the AI thing is that it gravely rests on us the users; becoming reliant or dependent, not having it as a tool rather becoming its tools. It's a good thing Hive frowns at this. Another considerable issue in this line is how far and how extreme AI could go. I wouldn't have thought of this, possibly, but seeing the recent advancement in the AI industry, Google Veo 3, it brings consideration to how much AI could do and how that could play out.

This latest invention of the AI world produces close real-life scenarios. It isn't like previous creations. With the right prompt to details and speech conversation in place, one could generate real real-life looking scenario. While it may sound all good for creatives and all, the possibility of perhaps falling into some deceit could be something that should be on the lookout for. Not to sound like a killjoy, but one thing I've discovered is that virtually everything good produced has been somehow used negatively by obsessed and manipulative individuals.

AI holds beautiful ideals, a wonderful tool that when used rightly and properly, will mean a whole lot more to the improvement of the digital experience of everyone in the space, and maybe work and life as well.

AI is a beautiful invention, and people are having a wrong perception of it mostly because of what is seen in movies. No matter how good AI is, it can never replace humans. We just need not overly depend on it.

That's it. We have to fix our perceptions about it and see the goodness of it. Yes, it can never replace humans, there's a lot more to that.

True, it's a beautiful thing but the users are the problem.

I love your closing thought: AI is a tool, not a replacement for human reasoning or judgemnt. When used with the right mindset, it can truly enhance our lives. But like any powerful tool, it's all about how we wield it
