A Child's Dream
One of the admirable and beautiful things about a child is his or her ability to dream, and yes, dream big. Every child dreams, and while the dreams might seem impossible and delusional, to that child it's a reality yet to pass. Then you talk of the belief the child possesses about their dreams; it's unmatched, something you can't take away from them. If they say it, then they believe it, and such is their belief in the ability of their parents. That's why a child from the ghetto could still believe their father's ability to buy them an aeroplane.

For as long as a child is a child, dreams are bound to be in place. However, slowly along the line, those dreams tend to diminish, and the life and glow of the beautiful hope tend to gradually become dim, fading out and relinquishing behind the scenes of what would be life's current reality. The question then is, where did the dreams go and what caused them to fade away as if they were never there? I guess ‘maturity’ could be said to be the answer to that. A child could dream, but a ‘matured’ mind could only see possibilities and realities.
Like every child, I had my dreams. They were great ones, some perfect in memory still, others possibly erased and forgotten. As much as I could recall, when it came to the dreams of a career path, I didn't really fall among the large category of the most dreamt of-doctor, lawyer, pilot, engineer and so on. The thought of a doctor didn't really captivate me as most children, not for the concern about blood or something like that, it just didn't hook me. And the lawyer, well I'm glad I didn't dream of taking that path too, I do wonder how I would have had to cope with the bulky materials and reading involved.
I didn't dream much to that extent until the day it dawned on me that I would like to be an architect. This of course because I witnessed an architect close by doing his thing and that got me interested. Since then, it has been a journey towards achieving that. It seemed like a joke at first I would say, but then it took a serious turn and that had been the dream from that time on. So, even when we were taking between the science and the art classes in secondary education, through proper guidance, I knew what path to take and was certain about it.

Presently, it is a dream come true, partially. I was privileged to gain the opportunity to study the course in a higher institution and successfully graduate from that department. It's a dream come true, right? Not yet though, for there's a high level of processes and requirements to be passed and achieved to be recognised as one, and work as a certified one as well. For now, it's a dream come true, gradually in progress still towards full completion. Our dreams might not always come out they way we expected, hence we could end up exploring other options. And while hoping to reach there, it's necessary to consider those other options available to keep one going.
Thank you for reading through!

I am happy you achieved your childhood dream even if it is just at the basics, you are already one step into becoming a full fledged architect. I too had a dream but it never blossomed into reality.

The joy of childhood is thinking and believing you can be anything and nothing can actually stop you, every kid enjoyed that until adulthood took it away.
Seriously, until adulthood took it away. If we can just see it like a child, well that's life. Thank you for your comments sir.
