Waterton Park

avatar
(Edited)

Ever been to Waterton Park? This is my first time visiting Waterton. Usually I tend to stick with the big 4 parks, meaning: Banff, Jasper, Yoho, and Kootenay. This park you might say is out of the way. Located in southern Alberta, and right on the US border as well. The time has come to explore this elusive park. Apparently the area is known to be quite windy, always, due to the local mountain topography. I can say, after spending the day here. Indeed, it is a windy place. Just a couple of pics I took today, much more to come!

I think the difference is it has no lake compare to Banff?

Haven't had a chance to post the lake pics yet, but will, just short on time. Thanks.

It looks like a small province in China as well and it's very beautiful.

That hotel is iconic in Waterton, it does slightly have a Chinese feel to it as you say. Thanks.

What a beautiful park. My first thought was it looks like Montana. Then I looked at the map and directly south is Montana! lol Those are some great pictures, I bet you have a bunch more all lined up to share!

Waterton park is lovely and yes, we have been. What was your favourite hike? Heard amazing things about Crypt lake but we went went up to Bertha Lake instead and it was an unforgettable experience.

Thanks for sharing some quality photos, brings back good memories.

Looking to do Bertha tomorrow, weather has been really hot here. Crypt lake looks to be the crown jewel of the area, but with the group I'm with, it may be a bit too advanced for us. Will try it at a later date.

Nice mural that someone made. Is that a hotel you took a picture of? Looks like a nice place to visit.

The mural was from the visitor centre actually. Definitely one of the best centres I’ve been to. A must visit, if you ever find yourself in the area.
