Sunday Stamps ~ Dollar
This one dollar stamp was issued in 1930. Yes, a long time ago! Back then, a dollar could certainly buy you much more than it does today. For example: about 4 dozen eggs could be purchased for a buck. Now, it costs around $17 or $18. That’s approximately a 94% loss in purchasing power since then, 95 years ago! It is almost like a 1% loss per year. Ouch. A good reason to stack SILVER or GOLD wouldn’t you say? The stamp depicts Mount Edith Cavell, located inside Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. “Edith Cavell” was a British nurse that was executed back in 1915, by the German military. Unbelievable! Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful set of stamps. I like the stamps of that period. After the 1960's, the stamps worldwide were so different.
You are right, the amount of stamps issued per year increased a lot in the late 60's and 70's. Thanks for looking.
Yes, there is something about these old beauties & yours. Know what I mean, da-Veks?

Nice, these are 1929 issues it looks like. Cool!
Nice look. Also good for collection.
Yes.
While there wasn't a Canadian Silver dollar in 1930, there were Dominion of Canada 50 cents silver coins circulating therefore a pair of 50 cent halves would be worth $19.24 USD or $27.60 CAD that would buy me a little more 4 dozen eggs at the local Real Canadian Superstore today. The closest Canadian Voyager silver dollar is the 1935 George V.
Indeed, moral of the story is stack silver. Thanks for your perspective @kerrislravenhill.
Overtime we just realize that fiat cash tends to loss value overtime and I won't disagree that gold or even BTC is a wedge against that inflation.
Stamps looks good.
Yep. True that. Maybe even Hive..
Wow, beautiful stamps to observe details like this, wonderfully close!

Where do you get all those coo stamps, the orange one awesome
Coo Canadian stamps bos!
She must have really pissed off the German military to get executed as a female nurse! Wars are ugly all of the time...
I love the stamp days, you always have some cool ones. Today I like the purple one, why you may ask? Because it's purple with lucky number 13 on it. What more could you ask for? lol
Awesome stamps, I love it when you do coin or stamp day. Fiat really has lost so much value that it's essential to stack silver and gold (and crypto)! Cash isn't king anymore because it isn't backed by precious metals anymore.
People dies for the leaders lies.
Stamps are basically only good for viewing and collecting, with no expectation of making money off it. Thanks for stopping by.
interesante como se manejaban en la antigüedad con estas cosas! un saludo amigo!
Thanks.
