Life Painting By the Master
During a recent life painting session led by my mentor, I had the opportunity to observe and learn alongside my coursemates as we explored the discipline of capturing the human form from life. The session emphasized the importance of observation, proportion, and expression, and provided a valuable insight into the mentor’s approach to composition, color, and technique.
Watching my mentor work in real time was both inspiring and instructive. Each brushstroke demonstrated a deep understanding of anatomy and an intuitive grasp of light and shadow. The experience encouraged us to be more intentional in our practice, and to appreciate the process of building a figure with structure, emotion, and movement.
Participating in this session not only strengthened my technical foundation, but also deepened my respect for the discipline of life painting. It was a shared learning experience that brought our class closer together and reinforced our commitment to artistic growth.
