It literally takes two seconds (just generate keys). But, a little more time to be honest to save keys. So, a minute. I think the best way to join now is at https://nstart.me Also, I put instructions/details at http://nostrwiki.crrdlx.infinityfreeapp.com/doku.php?id=wiki:get-started If I was starting fresh today, I would follow the "step-by-step" process because you wind up with an "npub" (username) that begins with something semi-human readable.
