On the Farm - Stacking wood

Well crypto is not the only thing i have been stacking lately.
Earlier this month, I was at my parents for my fathers 88th birthday.

The forecast called for a string if days that would be below freezing all day long for all of those days.

There had been some old pecan trees that were starting to fall down because of their age and then with one of the fall storms they fell. My brothers live clise by so cut the pecan trees up and brought the from the pasture to the fence area. They had priorly cut them into smaller pieces and stacked the wood on the house side of the fence.

My parents have a wood burning stove in the closed in garage they use to heat the house. Since i was visiting they asked me to move wood from the piles along the fence to the back porch by the door so that it would be easier to get during those cold freezing days.

Asyou can see, one of their cats decided they wanted to be around and also help. It is a little bit of a balancing act when you have your arms full of wood logs and a cat at your feet that just wants to rub up against your legs.

It made for a very entertaining exercise.

There are more pecan trees along the creek but these were a group of very good pecan producers. It was a shame for them to have fallen down.

One of the times i was carrying wood back and forth, another one of the cats thought it was a good ideal to get up in the pear tree next to the piles of wood and knock little branches off and pieces of bark that would fall on my head while trying to get a stack of wood in my arms.

At the time i did not know there was a cat in the tree dropping things on me. I was thinking that it was spiders or some sort of bugs. I was extremely relieved to find it was a cat dropping small twigs on my head.

After I finished moving the wood the played with the 9 month old kittens and the had a really good time.

Between the wood moving, balancing with a cat weaving around your legs, and the surprise "twing showers" from above, it must have kept you on your toes.

Yes it did. With all that it did take longer than anticipated.
