Accidental overdose of Oil of Oregano

I am writing this as a warning for others. I hope I will be ok, but after watching some random video promoting Oil of Oregano I confused myself and took way too much. I thought, I have that at home, I should take it. So I read the back and it said, 5 drops! Wow that's a lot, I should only take 1. Then I proceeded to put 1 entire dropper full in water and slammed it.

Wow that was strong. Wait a minute! 5 Drops!? Not 1 full dropper, I took 20+ drops maybe! Oh boy, so then I look into what side effects. Potentially lethal, but definitely in the toxic range. Side effects could be mild to severe, for the next 48 hours.

BE CAREFUL taking any kind of supplement, vitamin or medication. There aren't any first-hand accounts for accidental Oil of Oregano overdose, so here I am. I accidentally took it maybe an hour, or 45 minutes ago. Vomiting was not recommended, but taking this large of a dose is also not recommended. I have had all sorts of injuries in my life, but accidental poisoning is not comparable to other types of damage done. What did I do?! I wasn't thinking; carelessness is risky.

I accidentally took a full dropper of oil of oregano. This bottle contains 27.5 mg of oregano oil (80% carvacrol) per 5-drop dose, plus 1 mg AT vitamin E per 5 drops. I was supposed to take 5 drops but misunderstanding the directions, I took 4-6 times the dose! Oh no, this wasn't my plan today.

While this may only result in mild upset, stomache pain, nausa, heartburn or diarrhea, severe reactions could include rashes, vomiting, severe pain or uhh.. well i'll let you know. Severe lasting harm is rare from a single overdose, but it's bad if I get persistent or worsening symptoms.

Repeated doeses like this are toxic or potentially lethal, but I hope that I can stomache it. I still have to work later tonight, and hope my system is ok. There's no evidence that a big large dose has any benefits, but definitely has risks. I would throw it up, but was warned against that. But if it gets bad, I guess I can sit in the emergency room for 12 hours to see a doctor.

There is no safe large dose, side effects increase with the dose and the label should always be followed, clearly reading and ensuring you understand what you are reading. Unlike me! Whoopsie.

While I might be ok, the risk of side effects has drastically increased. If I develop severe symptoms, I will definitely seek medical help. But assuming the effects are mild and I survive the next 48 hours, I won't be doing that again. Beware! Be careful friends.

Still alive, 3 hours later. Some burping and gurgling sounds in my stomach, but nothing painful so far. Eating some chicken and potatoes and carrots, going to drink some Aloe Vera drink with it. Wish me luck!
