IF I HAD A SUPERPOWER!

Hi my fellow hivers, it’s another weekly prompt and these topics are really interesting. I would be attempting this particular one because they interest me a lot.

Tell us what superpower you wish to have if you had the chance. Give us reasons for your choice of power and tell us how you’re going to make good use of it.

At one point in our lives, we have thought of having superpowers for reasons best known to us. This will at least make you ahead of other humans.
My idea of superpowers came first when I was a kid, and I do watch superhero anime like Batman, Superman and the rest. It was really fascinating and interesting. I remembered on numerous occasions, my younger brother and I would dress up like them and chase each other around.
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
I know it’s really hard for these types of wishes to come true but if I’d wish for one superpower, it would be the ability to read minds.

Now every human has a mind which forms the cogent entity of our thoughts, belief system and imagination. It cuts across all what they are and whenever we are in action or not in action, we make use of our mind to think.
One reason why I would prefer to have the mind reading power is for security purpose. That’s what superheroes do. They use their power to safeguard the society. Imagine walking along the street and you can pick out people who harbor dark thoughts in their mind. You can be able to stop a bank robbery just in time, know someone who is going to kill another person the next street. My superpower will really reduce the crime committed in the city.

Another reason is to fuel interpersonal relationships among people. Knowing the state of mind of people will put me in a state to act like their intercessor. When there is rift in friendship, relationship or even marriage, I can be that intermediary who set things straight. This would be done with permission from them also so I don’t use my superpower to intrude into their privacy. That’s like passing across boundaries.
I can also be able to stop fights and intercede acting as a peace corps wherever I’m needed.

On a personal level, I would love to be a negotiator. Knowing how the mind of people work, I only have to sit across them and negotiate for myself and my client. It’s evident I would also get the best deal out for them. This would increase my value in the business industry and also help my clients make better decisions.
