Hey there, movie and series lovers!
I hope you are all doing fine. I'll be writing about a series that has quickly become one of my favorites, I watched it some weeks ago and I must say, it is very interesting! I am talking about "The Recruit".
The series follows Owen Hendricks (played by Noah Centineo), a fresh-faced lawyer recruited into the CIA’s legal division. But this is no desk job. A single classified letter throws him into a web of international intrigue, where ex-spies, double agents, and ruthless operatives play for keeps.

The Recruit, a two season series, each with episodes of rollercoaster that refuses to be boxed into the typical spy-thriller type series. It has lots of drama, action, and little comedy, creating a mixture of both unpredictable and exhilarating.
El Recluta, una serie de dos temporadas, cada una con episodios de montaña rusa que se niega a encajonarse en la típica serie tipo thriller de espías. Tiene mucho drama, acción y poca comedia, creando una mezcla a la vez imprevisible y estimulante.

The most intriguing part is that Owen isn’t some hardened field agent with years of experience. He is clumsy, impulsive, and hilariously out of his depth. Unlike James Bond or Jason Bourne, his superpower isn’t brute strength—it’s sheer luck, quick thinking, and an ability to talk his way out of (or into) trouble.
Lo más intrigante es que Owen no es un curtido agente de campo con años de experiencia. Es torpe, impulsivo y se sale de sus casillas. A diferencia de James Bond o Jason Bourne, su superpoder no es la fuerza bruta, sino la pura suerte, la rapidez mental y la capacidad de hablar para salir (o meterse) en problemas.
There’s barely time to breathe between gunfights, interrogations, and morally questionable choices. Yet, within the madness, the series finds its humor. Owen’s inability to keep a straight face in high-stakes situations, and his disastrous personal life make him strangely relatable.
Apenas hay tiempo para respirar entre tiroteos, interrogatorios y decisiones moralmente cuestionables. Sin embargo, dentro de la locura, la serie encuentra su humor. Then there’s Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), the wildcard—a former CIA asset rotting in a foreign prison, demanding her freedom in exchange for silence. She is brutal, enigmatic, and manipulative.

Unlike in conventional spy thrillers, The Recruit doesn’t glorify the intelligence world. Instead, it exposes the sheer absurdity of it. Owen isn't trained for the field, yet he's thrust into life-threatening missions. His bosses are cold, and willing to burn him the moment he becomes inconvenient. The paranoia is real, the betrayals are inevitable, and survival feels more like an accident than a skill.
A diferencia de los thrillers de espionaje convencionales, El recluta no glorifica el mundo de la inteligencia. Al contrario, expone lo absurdo que es. Owen no está entrenado para el trabajo de campo y, sin embargo, se ve obligado a realizar misiones que ponen en peligro su vida. The series is messy, unpredictable, and at times, utterly ridiculous but that’s what made it enjoyable for me.
La serie es desordenada, impredecible y, a veces, totalmente ridícula, pero eso es lo que la hizo agradable para mí.

I must say I really love and enjoyed watching the series. I'll rate it 8/10.

If you want to give a watch, that's fine. I'll say it's definitely worth the time. Just don’t expect a smooth ride because much like Owen’s journey, the series is full of unexpected twists, last-minute saves, and a whole lot of chaos. Enjoy!!!
Si quieres dar un reloj, está bien. Yo diría que merece la pena. Eso sí, no esperes un viaje tranquilo porque, al igual que el viaje de Owen, la serie está llena de giros inesperados, salvamentos de última hora y mucho caos. ¡Que lo disfrutéis!
