RE: Building a web2 layer over the web3 layer of the Hive blockchain

Thanks for the run down. I actually am using Keychain. On desktop. On mobile it's a different story. But then every once in a while there's an app that requires Hive signer or inputting my key directly. It's inconsistent, especially across platforms. I've used other, similar blockchains like WAX before and those ecosystems tend to have smoother, more standardized solutions.

I honestly don't know if I actually wanted to be using a lot of other apps outside of making posts, writing comments etc, but for sure I want to be able to swap tokens

I think you can use keychain application for everything inside that if you are using a mobile phone you can explore all the websites that you want to and you don't need to add any kind of keys and other things (one they are added 😅)you just need to login your app if you are using it I am sure you do thing already.

I wanted to use hive.vote and it seems it only offers Hive Signer.

Tribaldex doesn't even tell you at first but only supports Keychain.

Bee swap offers BeeSecure or Keychain.

Waivio wants Hive signer or Hive auth.

Ecency wants Hive signer.

Just a few examples, the list goes on 😉

Oh and another really annoying thing is that you have to type the username you want to login with. Why isn't there a drop-down to select it when authenticating with the same method
