security is something of utmost concern, some humans are just accustomed to making life very uncomfortable for others. From the online to the offline space, the issue of theft and scamming is no new thing. In short, it is a big industry for its unethical players.

Maybe aside from theft, we can talk of trespassing as a needed factor to be curbed. In the online space, this is why we put our mobile phones on passwords. Yes, keeping your sensitive files secured is very mandatory. In short, people rarely give out their phones these days.

In the offline space we can talk about disturbing hangouts within the vicinity to watch out for. Sometimes people choose to urinate anywhere, write things on the walls as they please, or tamper with a property or facility close to the fence.

I will be delving into this article from two security aspects, the online security demand (cyber security) and the offline security (mounting of CCTV cameras) in homes and business premises. Cyber security is not something to even debate much about, many things are going digital and there is a need to step up.

Ok, I was having a discussion with someone this morning and his idea was on how to mount security cameras in his compound. Not bad, already we are living in a world where everything is either captured or videoed and most times people even prefer a capture or videoing rather than first rendering the needful help. Everybody is NOW looking for likes on social media, A.K.A account monetizing, just make sure you are not the victim.

Heading back aboard, I am not classifying his demands in the last paragraph mentioned category. His reason was how this approach was used by an organization to curb theft, something they had to suffer for a very long time. When those cameras were mounted, every thief was able to advise himself. Perhaps I guess one person might have been the scapegoat.

Looking away from that, we are entering an era where digitalization is making getting evidence easier. When a CCTV camera captures you, there is no going back. It makes me remember my days of working for an eatery where the production floor was well cameraed; not to me, I chose to put some things in my mouth in front of it (very sorry if that was a bad habit).

I wasn't being stubborn but at least, there is always some leftovers and why would I hide to eat. My manager already knows I eat in front of the camera, she will come, look at me and walk away. I had some privileges anyway and adding to that I was a workaholic young staff. Let's not go too much into that.

A man of his reputation will consider some security concerns, it is something he had to let me know, it is not ALL the time you have to argue things for a long time, evident presentation makes the entire case very much easier.

To conclude, let me add, so what do I have to say as a feedback? First, I like technology and its advancement. Having ICT exposure already puts me in the place of encouraging him to do that. In short, I had to look at how broad its demand will be in the coming decade or two. professionals in this field will be making some good money over the years. I had talked about the rise of ‘living houses’ that we are gradually entering into.

Put the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence together and one can really understand that we are going to see big structural changes, houses will have eyes and even take necessary actions, it is already happening anyway but not at full pace.
