Prime Time ended

One of the most difficult things for us to accept as humans is fact. At least we have the right to air our views, don't you think so? We go again!!, Views! Views!! Views!!!. For how long and what has it profited? Time reveals a lot and I have had to learn many things. Most times we worry after mere fantasies. There were times I was very interested in watching movies. maturity falls on you and you realize there is not much time or not at ALL for many things. Yes, you have to cut the excesses.

I just remembered a movie scene that correlates with this article. It is the difference between 'who you are' and 'who you were'. The difference here is very clear. Let me stop there and delve more into the main context. Ok, so it was me being so interested in yesterday's Club world CUP fixtures between Inter Miami and PSG. A big fixture it seems; at least we are talking of big names like Lionel Messi. This guy has been a football legend. Like him or not, he has records worth envied

When I see people spending their time arguing who is the all time greatest between him and Christiano Ronaldo, I walk away. Both are good, all these comparisons are mere time wasting; both careers are a big green tick for me. Just as thumb prints are different; both are legendary in their own spheres, period. I wanted to see what is still left of him, especially playing against the hottest team currently in Europe.

I have not been much of a football watcher anymore but I had to rearrange myself just to me up, you can see how I wanted to see both battling out. I was expecting something very tough after I heard Messi scored a stunning free kick during the group stages. What can he do in the round of 16 against PSG? Time will tell. I was a little late to the show; 7 or 8 minutes I guess yet when I was there, it was already a goal to PSG. Not impressive, this is far from what I was expecting. Ok, early flaws and flops do happen I imagined, let me back and see how they fight back.

I was wrong, there was absolutely no fighting back. Messi and his Inter Miami team mates were completely outplayed. Their total dominance against a 'one time prime player' got me questioning; is this the Messi that used to terrorize a whole eleven players?. I could remember his prime time, indeed a threat. An eight times Balon dior winner if I am not mistaken. A whole football club will tremble when his name is mentioned.

You wouldn't want your club to be facing him and his then teammates. You can't blame him NOW, he is old, 'prime time ended'; this is the fate of all mortals. A 4-0 half time thrash with no shot on target. I had to leave the stage when it was already 3-0, not anywhere near my expectations. It was the latest PSG players dancing around with the ball. Of course this is NOW their prime time.

What happened got me talking to myself about life and underlying facts that we will one day expire. Maybe if we wake up daily with this mentality, then we will spend our time well, treat others with value and TRY to add all the possible positive things we can to make this world a much better place. It really humbled me and drew me closer to questions like, after all this, then what? man just flourishes like flowers then quickly fades, can this be all?

To conclude, let me add, one has to make a routine reflection about where we are all heading. Keep your hustle positive no doubts, but we have to understand the mystery of the future. I have read books of great Kings who are now no more. Some looked for all possible ways to live forever in their prime but it never worked out. Maybe one way The Creator humbles a man is to allow him to expire. Without this, this place will have been a ground of full time terror and oppression.
