Don't go where you don't fit in

If you want to make a genuine walk with God, be ready. This I can assure you, many things will test you. Sometimes some bible passages you read may seem unrealistic until it plays out on you. Ok, I am rethinking the scriptures that say; ‘anyone that wants to follow me must first deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me’. Another part to look at is that such a person must hate his father, mother and brother; yes, its deep meaning calls for insight.

Something will always want to come up to keep you busy and one of those is worry. When you feel unfulfilled, the pressure can be high. life is about resilience because even under a good plan you can be quaking. I can tell you from my own experiences, sometimes you can feel some form of disturbance as to if actually your plan will come to fruition. Knowing you are called to be great is one thing, living out this greatness is another.

I will be mixing the article in-between because I have a double experience to share. At one end, we will be centering on the pressure of life and at the other end, we can look at very decisive decisions. It is the Christmas season and one of those things you need is composure. Trust me, you can go wild and have to face a new bill come January 2026. Don't mistake it for Christmas anyway, you chose to swim; Christmas didn't say you must overspend, did it?

Aside from that, your manners can be affected and you are left to scramble with statements like, ‘had I known’. Let's say for instance, someone invited you for a party that you of course know their manner of partying. You will have to be very smart here even from the onset; instead of you looking odd in the settings, is it not far better you stayed away?

We are living in a world driven by herds mentality if I should say. TRY to kick against these norms and you are seen as being the odd one in the crowd. It was one of such scenarios I had to refrain from. I am not a fan of partying, especially where there is an open room for people to act and behave from this current so-called ‘circular life’. When that call came in, I had to refrain so as to spare myself some awaiting trouble. The pressure from this one was a little easy to offset I guess.

What can I say about the next thing that follows; during this season, it is much advisable to even stay indoors if party settings don't meet your standards; what then do you do when you never even saw it coming. Apart from the season in this one, it was an invitation that I felt I should join in to encourage someone close to me and in the end again, I looked very odd in the crowd. Maybe one can start wondering; ‘perhaps I should have stayed away’.

To conclude, let me add, the day you decide to be different, that's when you will know that every day of your life is pressurizing and needs tactical and God-breathed decisions to spare you. One of the things I have learned today is for one to always wake up and plead for mercy as the day breaks.

Many things are out there that will try to twist your faith. Put in the so-called tradition and norms plus the additional western living; I mean you are left to live by divine stamina.
