Women are capable of developing societies and changing the world, because in our hands is the seed of the future. We are indispensable for the construction of a more equitable, stable and sustainable tomorrow, because we are capable of improving the quality of life in our environments, with our contribution in health, education, economy, politics and many other areas, always with an attitude of respect for ourselves and for others.
Hay momentos en que tenemos miedo, por nuestra condición de mujer, estamos en constante peligro de ser agredidas física, verbal, psíquica y emocionalmente, pues la constante descalificación que hemos venido arrastrando por siglos, de ser menospreciadas , tratadas como ciudadanas de segunda y en otros casos más graves como objeto de intercambio, lo que no se debe permitir en ningún momento y mucho menos ser objeto de violencia y agresiones.
There are times when we are afraid, because of our condition as women, we are in constant danger of being physically, verbally, psychically and emotionally assaulted, because the constant disqualification that we have been dragging for centuries, of being belittled, treated as second-class citizens and in other more serious cases as an object of exchange, which should not be allowed at any time and much less be the object of violence and aggression.
Me enorgullece ver a las mujeres de mi familia, me parecen que son una bendición de Dios, son hijas, madres, sobrinas, hermanas, tías, abuelas, y pilares fundamentales en cada una de sus casas y a la vez del grupo familiar al cual pertenecemos, somos las que criamos las generaciones de relevo, las que vamos inculcando las costumbres y tradiciones ancestrales, haciéndo que estas generaciones aprecien nuestras costumbres y a su vez actualizando todas esas enseñanzas para que no pierdan valor ante los nuevos tiempos que se avecinan. Somos mujeres que creamos un balance entre los diversos aspectos de nuestra vida y los hacemos compaginar con lo que se requiere para mantener a la familia unida y próspera.
I am proud to see the women in my family, I think they are a blessing from God, they are daughters, mothers, nieces, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, and fundamental pillars in each of their homes and at the same time of the family group to which we belong, we are the ones who raise the successive generations, the ones who instill the ancestral customs and traditions, making these generations appreciate our customs and in turn updating all those teachings so that they do not lose value in the new times that are coming. We are women who create a balance between the various aspects of our lives and we make them combine with what is required to keep the family united and prosperous.
Soy una mujer profesionista, con títulos universitarios, como siempre les dije a mis estudiantes: "soy marino de corazón y docente por convicción", porque tengo un título en navegación y pesca y trabajando en el aula de una escuela técnica, en el área de tecnología pesquera, me fui convenciendo de ser docente y me gradué como licenciada en educación, es por eso que creo en la igualdad de géneros con respecro a lo laboral, si yo pude trabajar a bordo, en un mundo que era netamente masculino, puedo lograr cualquier puesto. Y me enorgullece haber cumplido con mi labor y haber formado mi familia y todavía sigo arreando con mis hijos más pequeños.
I am a professional woman, with university degrees, as I always told my students: "I am a sailor at heart and a teacher by conviction", because I have a degree in navigation and fishing and working in the classroom of a technical school, in the area of fishing technology, I was convinced to be a teacher and I graduated with a degree in education, that is why I believe in gender equality with respect to work, if I could work on board, in a world that was purely male, I can achieve any position. And I am proud to have done my job and to have raised my family, and I am still working with my youngest children.
