My favorite shooter continues to impress 🏯🎌👺

The Finals is a first-person shooter game developed by Embark Studios, known for its innovative blend of fast-paced combat and dynamic, destructible environments. Frankly, it's my favorite FPS title currently out right now and it is free to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Season 3 of The Finals, released on June 13th, 2024, brings a wealth of new content and enhancements that elevate the game's competitive experience. This season is Japanese-themed and introduces a new arena called Kyoto 1568. As with the other arenas/maps in the game, it is designed with intricate detail and features various interactive elements that players can manipulate to gain strategic advantages. Kyoto 1568 Arena features a network of interwoven 16th-century temples, gardens, and dense bamboo forests. You'll also find intense terrain height variation and layered buildings with hidden traversal options underneath. Traditional Japanese Shoji paper walls that players can shoot and tall, intricate structures ramp up the destruction!

A competitive World Tour mode has also been updated to feature a ladder from Bronze to Gold and beyond. Season 3 will focus on Cashout Tournaments of 24 players in 2-3 week Tournament cycles. The top five players will be on the front page of the World Tour.

Outside of World Tour, the new Ranked Mode for Season 3 is Terminal Attack. Players attack and defend a terminal in this robust and exciting ranked mode by delivering a decryption key. The 5v5 mode creates close, competitive, head-to-head matches.

The Battle Pass is packed with 96 rewards, 26 for free, with 1575 Multibucks to be unlocked in total. There are 10 extra rewards for the overachievers, spanning two bonus pages, which can only be earned through XP! This Season’s Battle Pass features prizes inspired by the history and pop culture of Japan!

Three new weapons have been added to the game. Recurve Bow (Light), Dual Blades (Medium), and Spear (Heavy). Plus two new gadgets were added. Thermal Bore (Light) and Winch Claw (Heavy).

There are loads of new free challenges in the Career Circuit and tons of balancing changes to the general gameplay. All in all, The Finals continues to bolster itself higher and higher as one of the greatest competitive shooters available to play right now.
