Cooking with fire 🔥

Yet another indie game has swooped me off my feet. This time it was none other than Nobody Saves The World. I recently got the game for free with PS Plus Essential and you may have already seen my first impressions video for it.

I could tell the game was pretty cool early on, but the more I played it, the better it got. I was continually unlocking new forms, visiting colorful new areas, and being introduced to a variety of enemy types. This game never once got old all the way until I finished it.

Nobody Saves The World stands out as a special and innovative video game for several reasons. The game introduces a unique approach to character progression. Players assume the role of Nobody, a character with the power to transform into various forms, each with its distinct abilities. This dynamic form-changing system allows for unparalleled customization and adaptability, offering players the freedom to approach challenges in creative and strategic ways.

Each form has its own base attack and three extra attacks that you unlock as you level it up. There are 18 total forms, plus 3 DLC forms. This means there is a nearly unlimited number of build possibilities. On top of that, there are passives and upgrades that can also be mixed and matched. If you struggle to pick your class at the start of a game like Diablo, then Nobody Saves The World will kindly take that pressure off of you.

The game's unparalleled blend of genres contributes to its distinctiveness. While categorized as an action RPG, Nobody Saves The World seamlessly incorporates elements of dungeon crawling, puzzle-solving, and even rhythm gameplay. The fusion of these genres results in a diverse and engaging experience that keeps players on their toes. Whether navigating complex dungeons, solving intricate puzzles, or battling formidable enemies, the game maintains a sense of unpredictability that continually surprises and delights.

Another standout feature of Nobody Saves The World is its humor and whimsical tone. The game injects a playful and lighthearted atmosphere into its narrative, creating a delightful experience for players. The clever writing, charming characters, and humorous situations add an extra layer of enjoyment to the game. This balance of engaging gameplay, dynamic character progression, and a captivating sense of humor collectively make Nobody Saves The World a special and memorable addition to the gaming landscape.

What makes this all even crazier is that you can play the game in co-op, both online and couch. I haven't gotten a chance to do that yet, but I'm sure it makes the game even more fun.

This game has soared to the very top of my favorite indie games list. I cannot recommend it enough. If you have PS Plus, be sure to claim it for free during January 2024 before it's too late. If you're on another platform, then just look out for a sale because I'm sure you can find this amazing game for under $10 quite easily.

I haven't decided whether I will purchase the DLC, but I am very happy with the 25 hours I spent completing this game.
