Neon Abyss gameplay and first impressions
Journey through the Neon Abyss β¨π¨ππ€©
Neon Abyss has been on my PlayStation Store wishlist for well over a year now. I have been hoping it'd get added to the PS Plus game catalog. That has yet to happen still, but the game is in fact on the Xbox Game Pass. Now that I also have access to that, I can finally give this game a try.
Neon Abyss is a fast-paced 2D roguelike action platformer developed by Veewo Games and published by Team17. Released in 2020, the game immerses players in a neon-soaked world filled with chaotic dungeons, challenging enemies, and powerful upgrades. Set in a futuristic universe where players must descend into the ever-changing Abyss to confront the New Gods and save humanity, Neon Abyss offers a thrilling combination of frantic gameplay and addictive progression.
At the heart of Neon Abyss is its procedurally generated dungeons, which ensure that no two runs are ever the same. Players navigate through a series of interconnected rooms, battling hordes of enemies and collecting valuable loot along the way. With its fast-paced combat, responsive controls, and a wide variety of weapons and power-ups, the game keeps players on their toes as they face increasingly challenging foes and obstacles.
One of the standout features of Neon Abyss is its unique egg system, which adds an element of randomness and discovery to each playthrough. Throughout the game, players encounter mysterious eggs that can hatch into powerful familiars, each with its own unique abilities and attributes. These familiars accompany players on their journey through the Abyss, providing assistance in combat and offering strategic advantages. With its addictive gameplay loop, vibrant art style, and innovative mechanics, Neon Abyss offers a compelling roguelike experience that keeps players coming back for more.
This is exactly the type of game I'd cook up in my weird mine. I love all of the bright colors and the challenging gameplay look is just the type of roguelike I'm often a big fan of. I'm hyped to showcase my latest gameplay video for you below. Enjoy!

Looks cool to play on one of this handhelds, I recently bought a tablet for content creation that can run emulators but don't want to burn it down π but this kind of games make me want to, reminds of Metal Slug back in the days βοΈ
A lot of indie games like this one are perfect for handheld gaming. I'm a big fan of using either Xbox or PlayStation remote play to play an indie anytime I'm bored and away from home.
See like nice game, not of my type of game but enjoyable for sure. Think like you the egg system is beautiful for the players!
I used to think there was no way I could enjoy this type of game, but I've learned to appreciate and have fun with indie games like this one more and more.
I love that it's a rogue like platformer, at least I'm more used to this kind of games with an aerial view, personally I didn't know this game I didn't even hate it and I could take advantage of the game pass to play Halo Infinite and try Neon Abyss how great to be waiting so much for a game and get it cheaper or that they add it to the game pass.
Game Pass has countless options. I'm honestly overwhelmed by having both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation game catalog subscriptions. I definitely never run out of new games to make videos about, that which I'm very thankful for.
