My thoughts after completing the Immortals of Aveum free trial
The verdict is in π€
I finally finished the free trial of Immortals of Aveum. It allowed me to play through the end of Chapter 3, but that still only totaled to just over an hour of gameplay. It was enough for me to develop a solid opinion about the game.
The combat is a lot of fun. I love how they did something new with first-person shooting and focused all of their energy on magic instead of guns. I will firmly say that the particle effects of the magic and reload animations are some of my favorite ever.
The story seemed decent to above average at best. I did like the fact that it had quite a bit of comedy sprinkled in. That and the music were both surprising to me. You'd think with a game fully focused on magic it wouldn't have upbeat electronic music with dirty jokes, but Immortals of Aveum has plenty of both.
I could see the game getting repetitive after several hours though. Luckily, the game itself isn't all that long. That can be a good thing if you find the gameplay to be repetitive. It can also be a bad thing if you are hoping for a game that will last you a long time.
After completing the trial, I am sad to report that I will not be purchasing the full game. I did have fun and do want to see how the game evolves, but I just didn't think it was worth $30, especially when I was already purchasing five other games on Black Friday. I have a feeling that this will end up being a free PS Plus title at some point, but who knows when. I will be able to wait it out until then. If it never happens then I'm sure there will be a time when this game is under $10.
Game trials are pretty awesome. This is the equivalent of renting before you buy, except you don't have to pay anything. Gamestop offers something similar with a 7-day return window on their used games, but you still have to have the down payment to actually purchase the game to see if you like it. The only thing that gets my attention about PS Plus Premium over PS Plus Extra is the fact that Premium includes many free trials for some of the best games. I don't see myself forking out even more money yearly to PlayStation just for some trials though.
That's all for my Immortals of Aveum content for now. There may be more in the far-off future, but like I said previously, I will not be purchasing this game right now.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

Awesome graphics
In a game with these two things, I would definitely choose magic. Because magic is always superior and more powerful than weapons. π
By the way, I prefer endless games rather than repetitive ones. Because once I finish the game, I get bored because I can't play it again. π
Magic does seem more powerful than bullets. Some games don't know how to make magic abilities fun, but this one certainly does.

Am I confused or had I recently played this game really very similar? Is awesome!
Cool. Didn't you feel like you were playing Doctor Strange for those magical effects around your hands?
Happy gaming.
ππ that wand gauntlet is so cool! is that a 9mm??
The trailer of the game is very interesting I haven't played the game yet but will definitely try it now.
