My mom's basement is decorated so well that it made me decide to take some photographs of myself

A few weekends back I stayed for 3 nights at my parent's house to watch their dogs while they went on a lake trip with friends. My only responsibility for the weekend was to take care of the dogs. I decided not to do Instacart since I was in a less ideal location than usual. This left me all sorts of time to do whatever I wanted.

You also must know that my mom is an expert decorator. Every room in my mom and dad's house is totally unique. It's as if different parts of her personality come out in various parts of the house. I love it and see where I get a large portion of my creativity from.

I have an upcoming series of posts that will be showcasing some self-portrait photography images that I captured inside all of the well-designed rooms I just spoke of. You may be surprised at just how much variety this home has.

This first post in the series was the first of many photoshoots during the weekend back at my childhood home. It took place in one small portion of the remodeled basement. This is where my bedroom was for many years, but I think it looks so much better in its current state.

I don't think my mom realizes she has created the perfect photo studio in multiple parts of the house. It feels as if I just showed up at a business that has a bunch of different rooms perfect for photos. Except instead it is my mom and dad's home. Crazy.

Back to these photos. Out of all the places in the house, it was this chair that told me it would be my first location. I doubt my mom or dad has ever even sat in this chair before, the downstairs almost never gets used. I had my way with it, sitting in and on it capturing various photos of myself.

Not only do I love the chair, but the items displayed on the wall add even more character to this corner. The shapes are very geometric and I just love looking at them. They all work together cohesively to emit a blissful vibe.

That's that. I took my photos and I was done with this area for the rest of the weekend. There were still half a dozen other areas to photograph myself in next. That'll be in a future post, so be sure to follow me for more.
