A classic game that I never cared about 🖲️

Mega Man 11 was added to the PS Plus Extra Game Catalog in December 2023. I was never big on the Mega Man games, but I figured I would try this one since it is such a popular franchise.

Mega Man 11 is a celebrated addition to the long-running Mega Man series, developed and published by Capcom. Released in 2018, the game returned to the classic 2D platforming roots of the franchise while introducing a fresh visual style with 3D character models and vibrant, detailed environments. As the eleventh main installment in the series, Mega Man 11 received praise for maintaining the iconic challenging gameplay that fans have come to expect from the franchise. I am not exaggerating when I say this game is difficult and unforgiving.

One of the standout features of Mega Man 11 is the Double Gear System, a new gameplay mechanic that adds an extra layer of strategy to the familiar formula. This system allows players to activate two different abilities: the Speed Gear, which slows down time, and the Power Gear, which enhances Mega Man's attacks. The inclusion of the Double Gear System introduces new tactical possibilities, allowing players to navigate tricky platforming sections and overcome formidable enemies with well-timed activation of these gears.

The game features a roster of eight diverse Robot Masters, each with unique abilities and stages. Players can choose the order in which they tackle these stages, adding a level of player agency to the experience.
