Generation Zero first impressions (it sucks)
I wish I could forget the 10 minutes that I spent with this game 🤢🤖👎
One of the PS Plus Essential titles for September 2023 was Generation Zero. I had never heard of this game and after playing it, I wish I still hadn't heard of it.
Generation Zero is an open-world action-adventure video game developed and published by Avalanche Studios. Released in 2019, it offers players a captivating blend of survival, exploration, and combat set in a post-apocalyptic 1980s Sweden. The game unfolds in an alternate history where the countryside is plagued by menacing machines, and players take on the role of a young survivor trying to uncover the mystery behind the robotic invasion. The game's atmospheric setting, richly detailed world, and cooperative gameplay mechanics make it a unique and engaging experience for players.
One of the standout features of Generation Zero is its emphasis on tactical combat and teamwork. Players must utilize stealth and strategy to outsmart the robotic foes, which often outnumber and outgun them. The game encourages cooperation with up to three friends, allowing players to form a team and tackle challenges together. This cooperative aspect adds depth to the gameplay, fostering communication and collaboration as players strategize to take down the machines and uncover the secrets of the game's world.
Generation Zero also excels in its environmental storytelling. Instead of relying heavily on traditional cutscenes or dialogue, the game encourages players to piece together the narrative through clues, collectibles, and environmental details scattered throughout the world. This approach immerses players in the mystery of the game's setting and rewards exploration. As players uncover the story behind the robotic invasion, they become more deeply immersed in the eerie and atmospheric world of "Generation Zero. Overall, the game offers a distinctive and challenging experience that combines survival, teamwork, and discovery in a visually stunning post-apocalyptic landscape.
Although I didn't like this game one bit, evidently there are some people who do enjoy it. To me it just felt too old and I didn't like the overall feel of the game. You will see my frustrations first-hand in my gameplay video today. Enjoy me being pissed off for 10 minutes straight.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

I really wanted to like this game because of the story plot and robots and all that but I just couldn't ever get into it. Could have been so epic though.
It sounded cool, but then just felt so janky. I'm too spoiled with great games to play something like this.
Thanks for the heads up! I hate games that suck! Back to my Skybase I think..
I've tried so many games and there's always going to be some that I hate like this one.
Thanks for sharing your experience. May You have a good experience with any other game.
Post something explaining AAA games. What exactly are they?
My example...
Think of a film like The Avengers that has an unlimited budget almost.
Then compare that to a film that only had a few million dollars to produce it.
Officially...
In the video game industry, AAA is an informal classification used to classify video games produced and distributed by a mid-sized or major publisher, which typically have higher development and marketing budgets than other tiers of games.
I have heard abkut this AAA games term but do not know more about these.
Was it expensive? Nowadays most console video games tends to very expensive.
It was added to my library for free as PS Plus Essential title this month. I'm sure it can be had for cheap, but I wouldn't recommend buying it.
At least you received it for free. I can imagine that you would have been asked for a refund, if it would not have been free.
I am very careful about which games I actually spend my money on.
I should call it xbox generation 2000s
It has its good point and it's the beginning
The rest is very old school halo 1.
Those who played that era will understand
If it's a bit boring for those who play stealth games sorry I've seen detective games more fun than that 😶🌫️
It felt like a very old game that is for sure. Not in a good way either.

If you like CS typa game, I'd suggest you Zero Hour.
Are you talking about Firewall Zero Hour?
I thought that was a VR game.
Or do you mean a different game?
No, its a different one.
This is the game is different than your average CS typa game. You might like it. How bout you make a little review about it!?
I don’t see that game on the PlayStation Store.
It’s on PC only 😅. Should’ve mentioned it.
I haven't owned a PC since 2009. If I did have a PC, then I'd just play CS or Valorant anyway. No plans to do that ever though.
yea.. 👎
where's the upper body of that mech on the cover? its just legs?? :P
Si es en Suecia es buen juego, lindo país.
It happens that some games don't like humans the way they don't like volleys. Try something else the next day. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm glad you had a nice experience with this game
Nice one!
I know that this game has negative comments.
There are some games like that which we don't enjoy our time there
I love the little details, this game looks beautiful ❤👌
I want to see more of it please. :)
