Gears 5 Multiplayer in 2024
This shotgun feels just like home 🏡⚙️🔫
I cannot begin to explain just how much I have missed playing Gears games. I started with the original Gears of War in 2006 and have played every Gears game since. It's been over 10 years since I've owned an Xbox of my own though. Now that I finally have a Series S, Gears 5 is my favorite game to play on Xbox. This game is straight-up amazing, especially if you are like me and spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing the older Gears games.
My favorite thing about Gears is the shotgun combat. It is purely skill-based and battles are intense. Then there is the whole active reload mechanic where you must time your reload to get back in the action quicker. You can't sleep on the fact that Gears has the best cover system of any third-person shooter game ever too. This game is stacked when it comes to brutal fun.
Gears 5 was originally released in 2019, so it's been out almost 5 years now. That means that it is full of content. There are 30 regular multiplayer maps and 5 free-for-all maps. On top of that, there are multiple cool outfits for dozens of different characters on both the COG and Swarm side of things. That's with me not even considering the single-player and co-op aspect of the game.
Gears 5 is available on Xbox Game Pass, which means if you have an Xbox and online, you probably have this game. If you've never played it, I cannot recommend it enough.
In today's video, I will be talking in depth about what it is like to play Gears 5 in 2024. The game is simply amazing, I have missed playing this so much. I will also be discussing my history with the Gears franchise. I look forward to playing a lot more of this game in the future.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

For this game is that I call myself equipodelta, this is my favorite game in the world, I'm dying to play again any of its versions, but on the xbox, I want to feel again the adrenaline that comes from playing it, it's very exciting, I was happy with your publication, thank you dear Daltono. My favorite is gear of war 3, I played co-op horde mode, it is sensational.
Gears is one of the best shooters of all time?
How does the name equipodelta relate to Gears of War? You have my curious. I did not know you were a fan of this game.
In the missions of gear of war 2 and 3 marcus fenix talks a lot with a girl through the communicator with whom he is in love, lieutenant Anya Stroud,
her squad is called Delta
I loved their love story in the game, I felt identified, since he never told her what he felt for her, however they both cared for each other a lot in the battles. It wasn't until Dominic Santiago died that she reveals to him that Marcus is in love with her.
Gear of war was very beautiful in my life, because when I had my family, we all played together and we were happy. A happy gamer family
And I became an equipodelta in honor of my family that played together.
Same here! My nostalgia for that game hits deep in the heart when I hear its name. I think I managed to put more hours into those games than any others. I played through 1 - 3 on their hardest difficulties both with friends and solo for those achievements. It's unfortunate how the industry changed and what happened to Cliff Bleszinski. I almost feel like GoW was his greatest creation and couldn't maintain that height.
I still follow and try to keep up with Cliffy B. He was the first person I personally remember to be the face of his game on social media.
Gears 6 should be revealed this year I'd say. Maybe it'll comeback near former glory.
I do that from time to time with certain developers. Sometimes I get really curious about what developers from games 20, even 40 years ago are up to now. Sadly a lot of them left the industry and ended up in some other one, or just some sort of producer role elsewhere. There are some good YouTube channels here and there that do documentaries on certain studios/games. There definitely aren't enough of them, but it's so fun to see those stories being told, the ideas they had and the challenges faced. The passion too!
Here's one I saw a few months ago and loved, I wish there were more like it:
I'm sure there are so many similar stories to tell even in today's industry, but in comparison it all just feels so much more closed off.
Thanks for the link. I will watch that sometime soon.
Wow! I didn't know the story of those games could be so impactful. I have more of a love for Gears because of the quality of gameplay, but also great memories with friends back in the day. I played the campaigns, but didn't remember the details. It's great you had such an amazing experience with these games.
This game brings back many beautiful memories.
I loved GoW back in the day. I played it so stupidly much back on the 360 that it became my favourite franchise. Late nights on GoW 1, 2, and then even 3 before Xbox started losing me. I did play 4 on PC, but haven't played the others.
I miss those days so much, not a care in the world. Some Papa Roach playing in the background over games of Horde or Guardian, finding new friends to team up with or just soloing it. Had some impressive stats back in the day, but unfortunately they got removed from the site.
We have similar memories. Gears was one of the very few games that I played religiously with friends online during my teenage years.
Gears was one of the first times I actually interacted with people from other countries. It was always so cool and strange to me that I would be playing with people from other parts of the world, and even talking to them. I was definitely a lot more shy back then, but it was super fun.
It's odd to think about how much the world has changed since then. Even the idea of playing games with other people and talking to them from different parts of the world is something that we take for granted. I remember the first time I played online on Xbox Live, I played Halo 3 and got hooked. Before that I hadn't really played things online aside from online with the PSP (NFS Carbon, MOH Heroes 2).
I think things changed for the worst a bit too much with how closed off online games now feel. So few people seem to talk like they used to, as if these games made it a form of interaction nobody wants to actually deal with.
You make a great point about international interactions. Gears/COD/Halo were all that for me. Halo 2 and Call of Duty 2 were my intros to online gaming. It was such a revolutionary change, not just in gaming, but for life in general and having online friends. With all of the access we have now, I almost never talk to people online anymore. Mics are always dead when I get in games or people are overly obnoxious and ruin the gameplay experience with loud noises.
I think when this started to become the norm, it was when I noticed I was losing a bit of love for playing online games. They lost that appeal of community, became a bit too serious (especially in the competitive sense) and silent. The idea of playing with other people was no longer felt, instead it felt robotic and a bit soulless. A lonesome experience.
I still search for such experiences though. I'd love to find games that aren't so serious and have that communication again. Something like GoW which is just a fun arcade shooter, nothing too serious.
That’s life these days in a lot of ways
Rogue Company was another great game. I’m not sure how strong the community for it still is though.
I loved those small shooters. I used to play a lot of smaller once with very niche communities. That's also something that doesn't feel like a thing anymore. From CS clones to CoD clones. The industry has changed so much, at one point I thought maybe I had grown "old" and bored of games, but the more I think about it, I just miss how it used to be. Still capable of enjoying them, just wishing they had that soul to them, and not just about the battle passes and money.
I used to play a ton of MMOs too, countless hours into all kinds from different countries. F2P Japanese games. Korean shooters. Basically anything I could find that seemed unique, I'd try.
I had to branch out and try many different types of games in recent years. That is the way I stay interested in gaming. There’s still ways for us og gamers to stay busy
Yeah I've been needing to do that. Really looking at grabbing Steam Deck at some point. I'm not in one particular place at the moment, from England Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, and next maybe Russia or some part of Asia soon. Really missing my desktop. Definitely missing being able to just sit down and let a few hours pass while getting immersed in some other world and story.
I’m surprised at the portability of the Series S. Look at how small my travel bag is.
I figured it was just marketed more as being like the slim models for the longest time. It's pretty neat it has that portability. I wonder if there'd be any region weirdness with the digital side of it all though. That's also been something that has stopped me from buying games on Steam while I'm moving around.
Hmm. I’m not sure. That’s a topic worth researching.
is there a sniper only ?
Yes. There is a snipers only playlist that is always available.
oh thats cool. I like sniper gameplay for shooters like the quickscoping ,no scope , 360 no scope you know. Glad they have that option. Are you mostly into web2 gaming? I know web3 games aren't there yet with the quality but it's getting there. you can try to look at exverse and see if u like that game.

I haven’t found one Web3 game that I actually enjoy playing yet.
Is there any gameplay videos for Exverse?
It's still early tho. i found this on youtube
this ones pretty good too spacenation
Looks like it's going to be a few more years before I can begin to enjoy playing Web3 games anywhere near how I enjoy Xbox and PlayStation games.
wait what even space nation you thought wasn't good? :( what about farcana or nyan heroes? What about nightcrows. let me know what genre u like haha
Compared to what I’m used to playing, the Web3 games look really barebones. Play a high-octane and gorgeous shooter such as Returnal or The Finals and you’ll find it pretty difficult to go backwards.. at least that’s how it is for me.
Ya I think it will be hard for you to go to web3. Might need some more years ; ; to get to the quality you want. If you're ok giving up some quality for some ownership then you can come try when it's a bit better
Man, tremendous game you just shared, its multiplayer was extremely good, I had a lot of fun when I played it with my parents, we got to play the first, second and third installment, I loved the third one, especially in its horde mode that was very epic, although it was the last time we saw our good friend Dominic Santiago...
I'm so ready for them to announce Gears 6. It'll be my first time playing a Gears game as it launches since Judgement back in 2013. I missed the launch of Gears 4 and 5 since I only had a PlayStation for the past 10 years.
I have never played this GOW but I played 1, 2 and 3 and enjoyed them too much. It's good to see that there are active people still playing and keeping the game community alive, that's very good. I love Gears Of Wars and its entire history, I even have a special physical edition of 3 that is brutal. Love that story. Thanks for share.
The new ones are more of the same classic multiplayer gameplay. I can’t speak on the latest story modes.
Nice! i liek to try some day ;) thanks for share
