Foamstars (Full Release) gameplay and first impressions
Party with the Foamstars 𫧠π
About 4 months ago I played the Foamstars Beta. At the time, I didn't fall in love with the game.
It is certainly colorful and boasts an amazing soundtrack of music. There was just something about the gameplay that felt off to me. Matches felt like they were too chaotic and ended abruptly.
Fast forward to February 2024 and Foamstars was a day one release on PS Plus Essential. This meant I would have access to the full game and get to try out some of the other modes the game has to offer. I figured it was worth a second look.
If you have ever heard of Nintendo's famous shooter franchise Splatoon, then that is the best comparison I can make with Foamstars. Instead of paint, you have foam. Instead of killing like most other shooters, you CHILL your opponents.
This is a Square Enix game, so the quality is there. It is a visual spectacle. This is one of the most colorful and fun to look at games that I've ever played. Sadly, I'm still not convinced the game will be a success.
There have been a few matches where I did well and came out victorious as my squad's leader. In most games, however, there seems to be almost no teamwork and things go wrong.
It may be one of those multiplayer games that is much more likely to be enjoyable if you have a group of friends to play with who know how to strategize together. Otherwise, good luck. My win percentage is less than 25% after playing about 15-20 matches.

Honestly, this video game does not call my attention, due to my tastes I notice that this game is like for children, because the fact of throwing foam and paints makes it a little boring for me, although I'm glad that Square Enix continue working together with Nintendo because sometimes they come out amazing video games, what I liked about this, is that when you work as a team everything goes well, it's a shame that sometimes your team will not help you, the video was great, I really like this style of reviews, regards
Despite how colorful and well presented it is, I can confirm that it is indeed rather boring to play. It's too chaotic and matches don't feel like they matter. Casual team play with a group of friends could be fun, but competitive play is lame.
I liked this gameplay on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater lol
Graffiti? Yes! That mode was a blast!
