Elden Ring gameplay and first impressions
It's finally time to die... A LOT 🤔
I was pretty certain that I would never play Elden Ring. This is even though it is arguably one of the greatest video games ever made. I didn't play it back in February of 2022 when it was released, because I am normally not a fan of the Souls-like genre. However, when a good game lands in my library, I must play it. We can thank my brother for splurging and picking up Elden Ring on sale for $35 recently. We game share our library, so that means I was forced to own the game too. I know, so terrible. It is if you don't enjoy games that punish you over and over until you GIT GUD.
In case you have been sleeping under a rock, let me explain what Elden Ring is.
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was one of the most highly anticipated titles in the gaming community, Elden Ring is a collaborative project between famed game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and acclaimed author George R.R. Martin, known for his A Song of Ice and Fire series (which inspired the Game of Thrones television show).
Elden Ring delivers the challenging and atmospheric experience that FromSoftware is renowned for, building on the legacy of titles like Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game's world is the most expansive and interconnected Soul-like game out, offering players a vast and immersive landscape to explore. Known for its deep lore and cryptic storytelling, the collaboration with George R.R. Martin enables a narrative-rich experience that goes beyond traditional fantasy tropes.
The game features a dynamic combat system, with a variety of weapons, magic, and abilities for players to master. It may take some getting used to if you are new to Souls games, but the feeling of true reward once you master this style of battle is unreal. The titular Elden Ring is a powerful artifact central to the game's lore, and players can expect its influence to shape the world and the challenges they face. Elden Ring has generated immense excitement and awards due to its combination of FromSoftware's signature gameplay style, George R.R. Martin's storytelling prowess, and a new, original dark fantasy setting.
I went with the Samurai class and followed this guide to strengthen my character early on as I was getting demolished everywhere that I traveled. Even after beefing up my Samuari, I still struggled to dominate like I usually do in most games. I find myself running from a lot of battles and have still yet to defeat my first boss. I am going to continue playing this epic game though and I know eventually I will conquer greater foes.
This first impression video is a bit different than my normal ones. I played the game for a few hours and got accustomed to the feel of Elden Ring before just jumping into recording a video. I was so freaking lost to start and even now I just barely have my bearings.
Stay tuned for another Elden Ring video in the future once I stop getting my ass beat nonstop.

I only played a little of Dark souls 1 (?). for a while it was fun but I got tired of enemies respawning. Also I prefer games with choices like The Witcher or Dragon age.
It's the same in this. When you leave and come back to a new area the same baddies are still waiting to ruin your day. I love The Witcher and Dragon Age tremendously. Very much looking forward to the new Dragon Age.
Magic is overpowered and you can win boss battles that way. I tried the waif to start with.., no armour or weapons.., that was tough.
The naked dude seems like it would be nearly impossible to progress with unless you're just godlike at souls-like games. My brother has had more success than me and he is an
Astrologer. I’m tempted to try that out too.
Se ve grandioso me gusta muy terrorifico
Which build are you aiming for and do you plan to visit every location?
I honestly don't even know at this point. I thought maybe dual katana samurai. Now I'm starting to think something with the astrologer may be better for me with a game like this so that I don't get so frustrated that I quit.
Ahh, ig you would be targeting for the Kamehameha and Moon veil
Elden Ring is still the best for me. Just that you need to farm a lot and level up your character so when you go to the boss, you’re strong and can defeat him/her. Just need to look for the best places to farm and farm.
But what made me like the game wasn’t the bosses (they’re difficult for me) but it was the dungeons and the secret dungeons/passages 😅 It was fun figuring them out. Glad your brother bought it so you’ll be forced to play 😂
It's undeniably a very great game. It's not going to be for everyone as it really is difficult. Farming is part of the grind to success for sure. I love exploring cool worlds in games and Elden Ring certainly nails it out of the park in that arena.
Never heard of this game before
It looks cool though
Nice play!
Surprised. It's one of the most popular games of the last few years.
The bad thing about the game is that no one will ever be as good as Let Me Solo Her. That guy is a legend!
I need to look that dude up now. I can tell by his name that he means business.
Yes, he used to help people defeat Malenia by soloing her. And she's the toughest boss in the game
En un tiempo cuando este más descocupada empezare a probar juegos que tengo pendientes, entre ellos este juegazo que aun no he podido probar
There is only so much time in a day. 24 hours is not enough.
Thanks for your review of Elden Ring. Seems like an interesting game, might check it when I have time. Though I wonder if it could be played on a smartphone?
Definitely not playable on a smartphone unless you are using something like PS Remote Play to stream it from a console to your phone.
CALL IN THE WOLVES! 💪😎
yea..

It's looking something different. I don't know much about games because I'm a student and don't have enough time to play that but soon I wanna try it
I haven't heard about this game before, after reading your post I found out about it, so I will definitely play it.
This game is so great! I played Dark Souls 2 & 3 a little bit too but this one was the only one that really got me hooked. Too bad I ended up moving in the middle of my gameplay of Elden Ring and once I got back to gaming it felt like too much time had passed to hop back in. Might have to replay it at some point though. Have fun man!
I know the feeling of taking too long off from a great game and not being able to figure out a way to pick it back up and get back into it. I feel like games should have a refresher feature which is similar to a tutorial, but instead explains all of your current abilities and maybe a recap of what you were doing story wise & maybe a quick run down of controls. As many great games as there are out they, developers have to know that many struggle to find the time to complete games & adding something like that would make it more likely for us to get from start to finish.
Yea it's happened to me many times too. Usually I try to just forget about the game for long enough and then just restart from the beginning. It's probably long enough for Elden Ring now to be honest so I should install it again. It would be amazing if games had a feature like that though!
It’s so hard for me to restart a game I got 30 hours into. At least with Elden Ring you have the option of trying a new build so there is more reason to restart.
This game exceeded all of my expectations, Enjoying your play through as always man!! 👌👌😊
