Day 1 of my family beach vacation to Seaside Heights, NJ
The time has finally come for my first visit to the beach since last summer. This time it is a family vacation just like I had many times throughout my childhood. Just my mom, dad, brother, and a couple of Pomeranians.
We decided upon a beach that none of us had ever been to before. The place is called Seaside Heights, New Jersey. If you are familiar with the old MTV show Jersey Shore, it's the same beach where those characters spent all of their time.
My mom secured us an awesome house just a few blocks from the busiest part of the boardwalk. It had room for more people, but my brother's fiancé was unable to get off of work for this trip.
Before we got to the beach, we had a long drive ahead of us. It is 8 hours from our home, but my brother lives 5.5 hours from us, so we drove to his house and stopped for one night to make the drive to the beach easier. My brother is only about 2.5 hours from Seaside Heights. It was a wise decision and enabled all of us to not become overly exhausted for too much time cramped in the car.
While in my brother's city of Lancaster, PA we mainly only ate food and relaxed together. For dinner, we went to Lancaster Brewing Company. After that, we made a quick visit to a neat little French bakery called Barberet. They were the fanciest desserts ever and tasted just as good as they looked.
The following morning we loaded up the car with 4 adults and two small dogs. It was an easy trip outside of some traffic in a few busy areas.
Once we finally arrived at the beach we walked the boardwalk for a bit and ate some dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the beach. Then went to the store and came home exhausted from the 100-degree temperature. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing together watching things on tv and talking. Then ordered pizza late at night and soon after were ready for bed.
The plan was to get up early each morning and go to the beach and stay there through the afternoon. I'll update you on how successful we were with that in my post tomorrow.

Duuuuude!!!! You are in my stomping ground! I live a few mins from Seaside in a town called Bayville. I’m sure you are going to be busy with the family and all but if you have an hour to spare, stop by my shop!!! How long are you here for?
Damn that’s crazy. I didn’t realize you lived here. I’m going to be here until Saturday. We don’t stay super busy besides during the day while we are at the beach. I’m sure I could get them to drive me to your shop or hell if you would feel like it you (and your family) are more than welcome to meet us all for dinner or something. My people are a great time and they would totally be down.

We all need one from time to time.
They are both pretty playful, but yes the one up front named Tito is the more energetic of the two. He struggles in car rides though, as you can see it makes him foam at the mouth until we get out of the car then he's back to his normal happy self.
This is the time that a person spends with a lot of happiness as you can see in these pictures that you are having a lot of fun with your family. Such a person must go and spend time with his family. Must be spent.
The iconic camo duffels and backpacks appeared again! 😅

I haven't visited any beach yet this year. I plan to go to the sea to cool off at this weekend as extreme hot days has arrived today and will last till Tuesday.
I live 8 hours from any beach, so a visit to one is a big deal for me. I'm lucky to be here.
The closer one to me is 45 mins by a car. I am lucky as well :)
Living that close to a beach is something I dream of doing one day.

In India also has some great beaches in the Andaman Islands, Lakshadweep, Pondicherry, Kerala and Goa.
The French Bakery sure knew how to present their sweet treats. Made it impossible to resist.

It sounds like you had a great time on your road trip to Seaside Heights! I'm glad you were able to make a stop in Lancaster to visit your brother and try some of the local food. The Lancaster Brewing Company looks like a great place to have dinner, and I'm sure the desserts at Barberet were delicious.
