Meet The DragonFang Lancer in Splinterlands

I like to test cards in Practice mode before adding them to my collection, so I can see if they'll be useful in my strategies and whether I'll sell them or keep them.

With the arrival of the new Reward Set in Splinterlands, I have new cards I want to acquire for my collection, and I'm gradually testing them to see which ones are most useful to me.

In my posts, I like to talk about Arcade Colony, so before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, I'll talk a little about this game platform.

Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.

For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.

I'm playing 3 games on Arcade Colony and they are:

There's also Genesis League Goals, but I haven't invested in that game yet.

My favorites are Splinterlands and Moon Karts. If you're a fan of racing games, I recommend Moon Karts and my post on how to start playing for less than $5.

Let's get back to Splinterlands, it's the main focus of this post.

As I mentioned before, I like to test cards before adding them to my collection, and for that I use Practice mode.

This is a very useful mode in Splinterlands because you can test all the Splinterlands cards, so it's a great way to see if a card will be good for your game strategies or not.

In the Cards Allowed option, choose Ghost Cards to access all Splinterlands cards.

In the Difficulty option, you will choose the maximum level of cards that you and your opponent will use in battle; choose Expert to use cards at the maximum level.

In the Opponent option, you will choose the difficulty level of your opponent; I like to use the Skilled Student option.

The card I'm going to test today is Dragonfang Lancer. It may not seem strong, but it has abilities that you'll want to have in battle.

Dragonfang Lancer is a rare monster from the Dragon deck. It has ranged attacks and 3 abilities:

Opportunity

With this ability, Dragonfang Lancer will target the enemy monster with the lowest health.

Reflexes

After the first successful attack by an attacker against this unit, all subsequent attacks from that unit miss for the rest of the round.

This is an incredible ability and fits perfectly into my strategies for increasing my monsters attack speed.

Mimic

At the beginning of round 2 and each following round, gain a random ability from the enemy team. Dispel removes one mimicked ability in the reverse order they were gained. Debilitations, Targeting abilities, Ambush, Weapons Training, Flank, Reach, Charge, Recharge, and Taunt cannot be mimicked.

This ability makes Dragonfang Lancer even more incredible because it can gain more abilities during battle.

Let's test Dragonfang Lancer in battle.

BATTLE

In battle, Dragonfang Lancer didn't get to show off its incredible dodging abilities many times, but you can see how it accumulates various abilities during battle and becomes a terrifying monster. So I have no doubt that it's one of the cards I'll want in my Splinterlands collection.
